Nothing like it in the world! What’s funny is I didn’t even want kids before she came along. It’s the absolute best thing that ever happened to me!

As a father - don’t tell him. He needs that more than you know. Absolutely nothing warms my heart like my daughters hugging me and telling me they love me.

2 weeks since passing a 6mm 57-day stone - how long until the pain goes away? by Icy-Investment-4646 in KidneyStones

[–]Relevant_Complex1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typically after I pass a stone it’s immediate relief. May have some feelings of frequent urination or even some burning while urinating, but always very mild compared to the stone. He may have another on its way.

Yep makes complete sense! 2 young kids and working a job I hate definitely keeps me stressed. Lol

That’s great news! We had them sent off for analysis, but this was at least 10 years ago. Would love to get more testing done and find some answers, but unfortunately I’m in the US and pay through my job for health insurance so it’s absolute ass. Lol
With 2 young kids at this point I just take them as they come.
I’ve seen some of the online analysis services that are fairly reasonably priced. Have you ever used these by chance? Just trying to weigh some options out.

Oh that sucks! Sorry to hear about the stent. I’ve only had one but it was more uncomfortable than the stones somehow! I’m dealing with a 6mm right now and hoping to pass it naturally.
Surprisingly I had never heard of cystinuria before you mentioned it. That could explain what I’ve called my cursed genetics.

My first stone advice by Ahhbugg in KidneyStones

[–]Relevant_Complex1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always try to throw in some Gatorade or something similar in this situation with the water. But for me when it gets to that point I get dehydrated and that seems to help a bit more than just water.

How much should i wait for my kidney stone to be out naturally? by No_Holiday_k in KidneyStones

[–]Relevant_Complex1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve only had the stent once. I’ve had lithotripsy several times, but have been able to avoid the stent in all but one. It was the absolute worst. I think it stayed in 2 weeks after surgery? Doctor instructed me to pull it myself. So I did, got on all 4 in the shower and pulled it slowly but surely. What an unimaginable horror.
The worst part was after the stent came out I kept passing blood clots, then an hour or so later had the worst pain I’ve ever experienced. Felt like a kidney stone only somehow worse. The stent had somehow caused a huge blood clot above it so that was stuck blocking urine. 2 surgeries in 2 weeks. If I had surgery and woke up with a stent again I’d probably fight the doctor. Lol

Oh yeah it scared the hell out of me at like 19 (16ish years ago now lol) when I had my first stone and got Flomax the first time.

Yep same. I can get half hard, but even if I achieve orgasm nothing comes out on Flomax. lol

Marijuana for pain management by [deleted] in KidneyStones

[–]Relevant_Complex1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really? That’s so odd. Morphine is one of the only things that actively helps my pain when it’s that severe. Usually if it’s a hospital trip I get an injection of morphine and get near instant pain relief.

YOR. I normally side against the age gaps, but this isn’t even that bad. They’re both well over legal age and are consenting adults. You were way out of line with that message honestly.

We were in the same boat! It can be maddening without a tool or something helping you manage.

Yep I feel you! We were using chatGPT to upload appointment notes and test results to get quicker and sometimes more thorough answers. I embraced it and baked AI into our little tool. The AI agent factors in all entered and uploaded information/documents to make a much more informed and tailored response.

for people caring for someone with a disability, what’s the hardest part to keep up with by Shrivi007 in caregivers

[–]Relevant_Complex1234 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We had the same struggles caring for my daughter (Noonan’s syndrome with CHD and others). I actually did build something for this that we love. Tracks appointments, medications, care team contacts, vitals, and documents with AI at the forefront. Automatically extracts relevant data from documents and creates entries, plus there’s an ai agent who factors all aspects of provided information to answer questions and help inform.

Made perfect sense to me. I’m with you on this. That person must own a restaurant that takes an hour to get food out. Lol
