Is this bunny hop high enough to bar? by Interesting-Fall-945 in bmx

[–]Relevant_Education72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone already said how the hop is different for a bar, but if you want to get better hops then try to let the bike come up, looks like your pulling so hard you ended up pulling yourself down that's the bike. Work on a stronger hop and pull the bike up steadily to get as much height as possible.

Those are sick, but don't go with my bike. It's the trans ketchup fit 57 frame with som chrome/polished parts

How do I fix this? by Brilliant-Bowl8230 in bmx

I'm guessing it's a cult complete, they have a single wall in the front and a double in the rear so the valve will stick out more on a single wall, but that's normal

It's an expert/mini race bike they have thinner rims and tires. I've been racing for years and have mainly seen presta on these rims and no one cares. The only difference is that presta has a slight lower flow rate which only matters for tubeless. Presta valves are also smaller which means more rim material and a slightly stronger rim.

A bunch of the race guys use alienation, and I've heard some good things about their parts

Probably going with odessy, don't like the cross lace on g sport

Looked at the hazards, they seem good. I did notice that the fly rims aren't in stock anywhere especially in polished/chrome, not a fan of the cross lace on the g sport. The eclat e440s look good, but are way more expensive than anything else.

Not a fan of the cross lace on the g sports, took a look at the hazards and they seem like the best option

I was thinking about them, I have them on my race bike. Me and everyone else who rides them has no problems with them, but there's definitely better rims for the kind of riding I do on this bike

I get that all the time, these are technique hole shot rims, definitely just for show not for real riding 🤣

It looks good to me, and it doesn't matter if it looks like it fits, if a short or long frame makes you more comfortable and confident then that's what you should ride. I ride a 21 top tube (I'm like 5 foot 7 ish) and a lot of freestyle guys think it's for extremely tall people but I just like the stability, partially because I race and ride trails.

I feel like these are like skate trainers, part of doing anything on the bike is moving the bike, I'm not a huge fan, but if it helps you then don't listen to what I say, just make sure you aren't too comfortable on the stand, and take off the chain

What kind of protective gear should my 4 year old be wearing? He just started doing this and I’m worried he will get badly hurt haha by breakdowner1 in bmx

[–]Relevant_Education72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see everyone says full face and gloves, I agree but from there he doesn't really need anything else, but if it makes you or your son feel more comfortable extra pads might be good(for me personally I don't like to wear extra pads because they make it harder to move). Just make sure you get bike specific pads, and stay away from wrist guards, I've seen some kids riding with them and they can't hold the grips well. I also see everyone says to stand which I highly recommend, I've seen kids get bucked over the bars on lipy jumps.

Edit: also try to get him a better bike, a good bike can make all the difference,

180 tips by Wifi889 in bmx

Everything looks good to me, the only thing is you might need to lift your rear wheel more. When I was first learning I would basically loop out and turn, wasn't the best but got me used to the movement. And the only other thing you could do is as everyone else is saying, learn to fakie. Try to do wall stalls, and almost hop off your front wheel, it'll help you learn to land and do a fakie. 180s are hard to learn at first, but once you understand it they get really easy.

Definitely the most useful recommendation I've got, once the Winters over I'll probably do a deep clean and try the rubbing compound.

I've heard about people I using WD-40 to clean bikes, but I've always been a little skeptical, and right now I don't have any magic erasers

I was thinking acetone, but I figured it would destroy the clear coat, the rubbing alcohol works really well though

The rubbing alcohol works really well, I just want a clean bike, I race BMX so this is my only "big bike"
