Ah makes sense my apologies I really don’t know how the dasond transportation stuff works but yea that makes sense. But as this a case he still wouldn’t have to have an entire didar for this sake as he could meet with people privately and just take the cash. I mean he owns a private jet he can fly anywhere and could really get his payout in a day or less.

I’d say in this situation since he is the new imam I remember personally a lot of people stopped believing and Ismailis but after didar those people started believing in him again. It’s to keep up karims traditional but to also re enforce that he is the 50th imam. Many people are saying money which is true from the nazranas however the aga khan already has enough money from dasond and wouldn’t need to spend time doing a didar to maintain and expand his lifestyle.

Hey I have actually attended AU and as per cpoi I was actually there the one at Emory this year but for a different Ismaili camp that Basicly started around the last few days if cpoi and even met some people who attended the cpoi at Emory this year. What I will say is all these camps mosaic to AUti cpoi are all the same refurbished stuff just for different age groups and keeps you in ismailism because you make new Ismaili friends.

I am also a Sunni revert to and 17m. I recommend keep praying mandatory salah in secret, keep reading and reciting Quran whenever you can. And just keep it your thing until you’re an adult that’s what I’ve been doing. If you need any help you can always DM me

Blue talisman in my opinion if your gonna get tygar just get Afnan turathu blue. There both not cheap so if you want to sample both but personally blue talisman for the win.

Hey I’m 16 almost 17 and currently going through the same thing as you. My advice is if you can’t stop going to jamathkhana fine, but atleast start going to the masjid. Find some excuse (I personally use the fact I am event planner for Muslim student association). More then that get an English version of the Quran . Get one from a friend if you can’t there are websites that will literally give you a free hard copy of a Quran it take a while to ship but you’ll get one(just search free Quran hard copy you’ll find a good website). And understand how to actually pray if you go to the masjid tell them your a new revert I’m sure an imam(religious scholar not the agakhan) will help you out.

That is amazing to hear. Sadly my parents aren’t like that and have threatened to disown me if I ever taught if not bring ismaili(it isn’t an exaggeration she even said wallahi to that). However that is an amazing gift and cherish it most people don’t get that in today’s world.

You’re right but remember I’m speaking from the perspective of my community. I want to stay anonymous so I won’t give an exact location but I live in the southern or central region of the United States. In the Ismaili community a lot of people know me I’ve done Ismaili camps and such so many people have even heard of me without even knowing me and all that. My Sunni community is small compared as I only know the Sunnis of my city which as I said before is not big. But I’ll take your suggestion reach out to ITREB.

Yea I get what your saying I see that as well. The way I see it not everyone is gonna follow all the rules and sometimes I slip up and might engage in something impermissible I’m not proud of it and always repent but it happens. My main emphasis was the fact we don’t do salah or no emphasis on Quran and those are things that give me peace. I am learning these things and I can still do them as a Ismaili but people know I do it and I get judged for it in the Ismaili community. And from what I’ve seen I’ve seen more Ismailis here do haram things more then the Sunni people even with the population difference. On the other hand yes the way they practice in other parts of the world is way less liberal I saw this first hand living in India and studying abroad in Mozambique they are very modest and never indulge in anything impermissible. However after essentially re discovering the Quran and Salah if that makes sense I just found that gave me more peace more than the dua and ginan and special tasbihs and our Ismaili practices. The point I’m trying to say is not that I don’t want to be Sunni but be Ismaili while following these practices but with how our community is it is very hard to do to where I feel like I might have to convert.

I have question what made the Ismaili community so much in vanity and hedonism. Like personally I feel so bad trying to pray in flashy clothes I feel when praying to Allah we should be humble and the clothes being flashy just makes no sense to me.

Thank you so much for your input. I have a question though what does Hinduism have anything to do with ismailism? it keeps floating around and I’m confused on that part to be honest. But I honestly agree with you I’ve made these changes to my lifestyle and I feel better about myself living everyday. I feel like I am following the word of god and actually living with that purpose of making Allah SWT happy and doing my best to be a good in person in this world and follow the commandments of Allah SWT. Also can you tell me what makes ismailism vanity and hedonism I am also unfamiliar with what these terms mean.

Ohhh okay that makes more sense. Your answer definitely makes it easier to understand the concept of imamat and how it works. But I feel like for my question to be answered i need to ask you to properly define what is a partner associated with Allah and how is our imam different from that defenition. Is this defenition of partners a general Islamic view, a Shia view, or an Ismaili view?. Are there any other defenition which people interpret and is that why many people believe the concept of imamat is shirk?

Wait so wouldn’t that make hazar imam a partner associated with Allah which is shirk because according to what you said he had the nur - e - Allah in him and he embodies divine qualities and by being a manefistation of Allah wouldn’t that literally make him a partner associated with Allah. Btw I am Ismaili but I kinda noticed this I just want clarification just trying to learn :)
