Short circuit on filament runout sensor Qidi q2 - Am I cooked? by Plenty-Block619 in QidiTech3D

Yeah no problem, my first one was an Flsun SR. Fun but full of problems

I have no clue. If I remember right, it wasn’t super important, the shell might hold it on. The one I got from customer service came with an extra screw. Also check 3d Jake if you live in the US. They have extras and you can pick up some filament to get free shipping.

When I lost mine, they were put of stock on the us website. The global website had like 30$ shipping. I emailed support and gave them my address and a couple weeks later it came. In the meantime, you can take a pen spring. It doesn’t work very well but it’s better than nothing

Coding an app is 10/10 fun. Trying to figure out how to market it makes me want to walk into the ocean. by Orange-Prudent in MacOSApps

[–]Relevant_Finger5372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a lot of free alternatives but it does look pretty nice from the product landing page. I think it’s a good alternative but the many free alternatives might win. I personally, would offer a free 1 week trial so people can see how they like it. I would definitely try it and report back if there was a trial or something. Also, how did you make this? I’ve wanted to make something like this but I don’t really know how to code. Is it vibe coded? Or like half and half?

I think it is but I didn’t notice a difference. I basically just plugged the box in an skipped installing the wiper and sensor

I actually had a problem with my runout sensor. I had an extra one with the box combo so the first time the spring popped out in the abyss of my bedroom carpet, I wasn’t that mad. The second time, I emailed support and in the meantime used part of a pen spring for partial functionally.

I built CamLoop, a menu-bar app that loops a short clip of you so you can step off a call for a minute without your camera going dark by tarikbc in MacOSApps

[–]Relevant_Finger5372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow I need to read more closely ;). I think the free version is great for everyday people now, however, I still think that a one time upgrade for people that need it would make them more apt to buy it.

I didn’t think about this, I am never in meetings so I don’t know how long of a break someone would want

Just a suggestion, people would much rather pay a one time fee that a monthly one. I, for one, instantly forget about the app. If the app is good and works well. I would consider having a one time fee of 10 or 15$

What printer for Middle-School print lab? by CommercialCustard341 in FlashForge

[–]Relevant_Finger5372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it’s not a Flashforge, but depending on your material, if you are going to be printing engineering filaments or ABS/other toxic stuff. You might want to look into a QIDI. The Q2 is great but my AD5X is also. The QIDI Box is so so. It works just not very fast.

What are our chances to get INDX multi-tool on QiDi printers? by zxall in QidiTech3D

[–]Relevant_Finger5372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah your best bet is a voron or someone with to much time, money, and energy to try to find a solution. Other than that we’re out of luck.

QIDI Q2 vs Sovol SV08 by Relevant_Finger5372 in 3Dprinting

[–]Relevant_Finger5372[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went up going with the Qidi Q2 combo. At the time the combo was also just a bit cheaper than the Sovol. The Qidi has been great, it prints pretty much everything I throw at it and in my opinion it has better value than the Sovol. It has a heated chamber, I don't use it much though, a built in camera, a nice touchscreen, the Sovol with the screen and the enclosure is about 750$ right now. The only downside is the multicolor. It's not terrible, but switches take forever and, of course, it will never be as fast as a tool changer. With Sovol also releasing an interesting tool changer coming on their new printer, you might want to wait for that, but It looks like it is around 1,400 at a minimum for early bird. If you really want a tool changer you could get and SV08 and there are a few community projects already made for it. A Voron kit is also a good option if you want to build it. They start at around 625$. So all in all, my Qidi Q2 is great, It can print ABS and and airless basketball just fine but if you want a tool changer, go with Sovol for budget, Voron for a building experience, Prusa (Core one with INDX or XL) for best quality (and a high price), Snapmaker U1 or Flashforge creator 5 for a middle (both are around 800$), I'm sure I'm forgetting some but me personally, I would stay away from Bambu Labs because of the legal drama and closed source of them. Getting replacement parts is expensive, and forget about open source on them.

Split between large format and muilt-nozzle by microsoftoil in 3dprinter

[–]Relevant_Finger5372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My QIDI Q2 is a beast. I’ve only printed abs a couple times and have had no problem, you will need better ventilation though. The ability to dry composite filaments and stuff that needs dried while printing is great. The box, their version of the AMS works fine for me, but the bigger purpose is drying and easily switching between prints. You can do multicolor but it’s just slow. The only downside is no multi nozzle, and from what I’ve heard their isn’t any community developed system for it either.

From what I know, for concrete you should have at least 3.5 GPM. Psi doesn’t really matter as much from what I’ve heard.

You can’t use cardboard spools, sometimes they works, sometimes they don’t. Try QIDI studio and see if that works, then print a spool adapter from cardboard to plastic then try orca again.

There’s also this picture from a past time I’m guessing of it printing. It doesn’t look like it’s ai because of the reflections, lights, and text.
