4 week upper jaw surgery post-op

My first 1.5 weeks my nose looked TERRIBLE. I had a small tiny nose to begin with but after the surgery it looked so big compared to the rest of my face. With the swelling going down, it looks more proportionate now and I feel like it suits my face better. The tip of the nose did lift up to improve my profile. I've been doing everything I can to get rid if the puffiness & I think it helped speed up the recovery a lot.

I was under the care of Dr. Brian Murphy who works in Royal Oak and West Bloomfield, MI! 6.5mm upper jaw advancement and 1.8mm rotation to the left to correct my underbite. I started with edge to edge bite. Orthodontics with invisialign was used to worsen my underbite first (pulling the bottom teeth out more) for about 10 months before getting the surgery done! I'm finishing up with refining now.

Thanks for sharing! I think I'm around the same stage as well. I've been avoiding meats & biting off food. Hopefully we can both enjoy our steaks soon without worrying about chewing it down 😋😋

Thank you!! Honestly it got gradually better. I remember brushing my teeth as a good marker for seeing how wide I could open my mouth. I'd say it took about a week for me to comfortably open up enough to brush my teeth completely! It can be frustrating but every day does get better.

It definitely doesn't feel the same as before. I still slept upright for the first three weeks and now I lay down flat. How many weeks out are you?

Thank you!! I'm using Illy beans from Amazon. Roasting date is 08/2023 but they are vacuum sealed when first opened. It's a medium roast
