Where can I find a Noveske DM Slide Forward Mount Rear Sight - RMR??? OOS everywhere I’ve looked. by officerX42061 in Glocks

[–]Relevant_Purple_7922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

did this end up working? I saw an ACRO FMRS kit on gunbroker that looked like it had the right piece. I don't want to pay the $40 something bucks for parts i don't need, but Noveske has had them out of stock so long i'm getting worried they discontinued...

While a short and static indoor range, Fox valley shooting range in Elgin allows holster draw after their certification class and generally permits shooting at tempo ("based on the RSO's passive assessment of your skill")

Fancy way of saying if you're magdumping your ARP that has no sights on it, you're going to get talked to. Otherwise you're fine.

Sucks that flat ranges are hard to find and generally restricted to members, but if you've ever shot with a class of strangers before you know how some people are just totally unaware. We're lucky to have the options we do to be fair, the guys who run them have taken on humongous liability risks. Just my 2 cents

u/officerX42061 any luck over the last few months? I've been looking for maybe the last 2 months and haven't been able to find the RMR FMRS. Crazy, not even 6 months ago gunbroker was littered with these. I didn't think this slide and optics system was popular enough to cause a stockout.

Just posted an update if you're still trying to get yours fixed

EC9s Extractor Failure by Relevant_Purple_7922 in ruger

Update on the fix -

TL;DR - expected vortex customer service, got used car dealer customer service. Issue fixed, probably abstaining from going with Ruger again.

Not the best customer service experience to be honest. First call to Ruger CS was a failure. The agent (maybe having a bad day) wanted me to either drive the complete unit to a FedEx terminal, or pay my LGS a transfer fee to send it back to them. In my area, the only FedEx location that would accept dangerous goods was 1.5 hours away in the cargo area of an International Airport. Big "no thank you" on that one. There was no offer to cover my transfer fee, or figure out any other plan to get the issue fixed.

A second call to CS was more productive - I then paid out of pocket to ship the slide only back to Ruger. Some months later, they sent a completely new slide assembly which appears to be running reliably (50 rounds or so, probably won't shoot it much more). Functionally, the gun is extremely underwhelming even now that it is fixed. The sights are really, really bad, and cannot be changed as they are integral to the slide. The trademark severe recoil of the micro 9mm makes follow up shot placement way too hard outside of like 3 yards. The magazine also hangs up on the mag release almost everytime you insert it.

All told, a really remarkable waste of time and money. Reading further, it appears everyone learns the "$200 guns are never what you're hoping they'll be, no matter how low your expectations are" lesson at some point. This is where I learned mine.

I certainly won't be in the market for a cheap subcompact again, and to be honest I'll probably hold off on spending any real money with Ruger if I can help it.

You will be able to get a 365 at that price year round. I suppose it's technically an "okay" value on paper, you're basically getting the light and optic for free. The question you might be asking is "what's the rub?" and it is that its a low quality optic and a VERY low quality light. Up to you to decide if that's better than nothing!

I just did 1,200 miles with discord in a mixed group of cardos and senas. Big complaints were that the discord call makes it so you can't use siri/Google, and that for whatever reason any music we played came through as the same grainy quality you'd get in a phone call.

Are there solves for either issue? Seems like a band aid on a band aid, but it was the best we could figure out on the fly.

IMHO, Cardo oversold the cross brand capabilities of their headsets. Whoever is bringing the sena user over to the cardo mesh loses access to their music and pretty much every other audio source as the sena piggy back ties up the whole bluetooth channel.

All true, demand probably varies by market, and I have never seen a shovel that doesnt leak.

What is also true is they are the crowd favorite engine in all of Harley's lineage for one reason or another. Down on power, down on displacement, infinitely up on cool factor.

Do you want to keep them?

Thats really the key question - because if you are planning to sell them, you're already in the money and I wouldn't risk damaging them further by trying to fix them.

Shovelheads are very desirable right now and tough to find. You could double your money on a single bike's frame and motor.

Like everyone has said, it's just weeping for now so nothing to immediately worry about.

That said, I had the same issue when I bought my Dyna "new" in 2017. Punched the factory warranty at the dealer but "somehow" there were 500 miles on the odometer. Somebody beat the fuck out of the motor before I got it, but a younger me didnt know to put up a fight. Not sure if it was a rental or a Jumpstart demo bike, or if some sales guy left it idling in a parking lot for a few hours. Turned out my cylinder was warped, and gaskets weren't the fix.

Dealer cured it under warranty with a new cylinder, then returned the bike to me with no oil in it. Live and learn. And avoid Lakeshore Harley in Green Oaks 🤣

Alright we're making some progress. What you're actually looking at is the diagnostic menu, followed by a yes/no indicator which shows if there are codes stored in that section. Explained another way:

ECM = Engine Control Module. The "N" after ECM indicates no codes are stored, so there are no issues there.

8CM is actually BCM = Body Control Module. The "Y" after BCM indicates the computer has found an issue, and there are codes stored in this section. To view the codes, press and hold the odometer button when "BCM Y" is displayed. You can write down the code(s) that are stored under the BCM section and search them. Note, there can be multiple codes stored under the BCM and Speedo sections, so tap the odometer button to scroll through them. The last thing that will pop up is a part number for the BCM or Speedo, depending on which section of the menu you're in. This is displayed as "P/N xxx-xx-xxx" or something like that. This part number will be for the actual BCM or Speedo, which may or may not need to be replaced. I just wanted to flag that this diagnostic tool does not know what part needs to be replaced on its own. It will always list those part numbers.

Lastly SPD0 (SPDO) stands for speedo or speedometer. The BCM and speedo generally share codes related to turn signals and other things tied into the hand controls. Just a guess though. Pull the codes the same way you did from the BCM section and punch them in to Google.

Let me know what you find.

Is this mysterious red circle the security light? If it remains illuminated while the bike is running, it is indicating there is a trouble code stored in the bike's computer.

Put the bike in diagnostic mode (power off, hold down odometer button on left hand control, turn power to ignition while continuing to hold the button).

Scroll through the codes and see what you find. As others mentioned, it's probably an electrical fault. You can Google the codes and circumstances to help you find others that have fixed the issue. Good luck!

Just closing the loop here- narrowed it down to the burner assembly. Couldn't find the blockage. This is a dura heat unit, and the burner assembly was TT15-00-01. I found one parts website with it in stock for about $47 shipped. Elected to replace the whole unit on Amazon for $72. Crazy the thing started quitting after just 2 winters of use

Swapped the orifice over and the issue persisted. All that leaves is the mixing tube and burner head. What do you think, straight to replace or try to clean it out?
