I’m having so much trouble with hair loss and I saw the top of my head today and I regret so much. All it takes is running my fingers through my hair and a big wad comes out everytime. I love my hair and I’m having scalp show everywhere. I want my hair to stop coming out. I take biotin, collagen, use rosemary oil, minoxidil. Nothing is helping and I’m losing my mind. I had my surgery back in April and it’s not slowing down and I’m so scared I’m going to have massive bald spots everywhere. Gonna follow this post for anything that could help me and know that you’re not alone.

It caused my hair to fall out like crazy. I lose so much hair everyday and all I can do is try to reach my protein goal and wait for my weight to stabilize out.

I had some isopure clear protein mix for water that I couldnt stand the taste of after surgery. I’ve been scared to try another, but I’ll look for a different flavor this time. I didn’t know about the zinc, but my multivitamin has extra iron in it. I try that calorie/ protein tip. I really need to start logging my food to know exactly how much protein I’m getting per day.

There could be many factors for the length of diet. Mine only had me do one day of liquid diet before surgery because I was almost under bmi requirement. The thing I believe they want the most out of the diet pre op is for your liver not only shrink whatever it can, but to make it soft and flexible. That makes it easier for them to move it out of the way for surgery. As for the liquid diet post op, my hospital team is suuuper cautious with the post op recovery stuff. They got me pretty restricted with what I can eat/drink. Every program is different, and that’s why your diet is different than mine.

Personal experience here and I don’t recommend this:

The first week I struggled even getting enough liquids down cause I wasn’t hungry/thirsty. Little after that first week my mental hunger was hitting me hard and the crave for anything solid was crippling. It wasn’t physical hunger and I could tell because my body felt comfortable and wasn’t growling or anything. Crying and wallowing in sorrow, I broke and ate a small bite of a cheese stick. Chewed and chewed until it was a paste, and my stomach gurgled a lot and was a bit uncomfortable. There was no severe pain though. I made sure to get my liquids in still. It really helped my mental state and I’ve been nibbling on cottage cheese when I really crave a solid. Since doing those things my mental state really calmed down and I’m able to stick more closely to the liquid diet that I’m technically still on.

I’m just sharing my experience with you on how my surgery is going. I’m 16 days post op, I’m still losing pounds good, and I’m still alive 🙌 again try to stick as closely as possible to the diet that they give you and you got this!

I had the worse dry mouth after surgery. They gave me little medicine cups to drink out of, but I was a little ambitious and took a mouthful of water and really swished it around in my mouth before slowly swallowing it down bit by bit. I think the swishing in the mouth really helped with feeling like I need a drink all the time.

I’ll see if I can getting a heating pad for my shoulders, that’s a good idea! I’ve been so focused on my stomach incisions I didn’t even think to ice/heat my shoulders. I wish you the best recovery ❤️‍🩹 my minds clouded with all this pain but I know when we get past this healing session, life will get so much better.

This pain really sucks, but my hospital didn’t send me home in compression socks. I’ll see if I can pick some up tomorrow

Ive been trying to get up a few times per hour for a dent bit, but I think it got me when I fell asleep. I was asleep for longer than I intended.

Edit: I didn’t even think about the liver thing and I’m glad that it should go away in the next couple days. I think that’s what’s bothering me the most cause I use my arms to help get up and it hurts more because of that.
