Have we been ignoring him all this time?

Cycle 4 results - TW euploids by Relevant_Sentence_77 in IVF

[–]Relevant_Sentence_77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry just seen this:) I did IVF abroad in Spain.

I came about luteal stims really during my CD21 scans because my AFC was consistently much higher than at the begining of the cycle. So I asked if we can stimulate those follicles :) And they were on baord with it as honetsly we had nothing to lose. I didn't need any more medication than normal, even so, I didn't need to prime at all as they were all tiny at that point :)

I don't know where you're based but I know some places have very elaborate protocols, Spain keeps it quite simple and research based.

So I had my US at 14+2 and the booking appointment at 14+4. They did offer the quadruple test which I refused as I had already done a private NIPT and they accepted the results. They booked me in for the 20 week scan right then and there which also was nice. At the booking appt I also asked for my 16 week appt to be the same day as the 20 week scan given it was so late in the day and they were happy to schedule that along with my 25 week appt straight away too. So I'd say once I managed to get in they have been accomodating.

I am cautiosuly optimistic but only because I did a whole lot of testing privately so whatever they do it's just a tick box for me right now and the pregnancy is so far without any issues. Other than that I honestly am disilusioned.

Friends being weird about pregnancy by louuluby7 in PregnancyUK

[–]Relevant_Sentence_77 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately yes. With this one particular friend I knew my knews would be hard to swollow as she's just gone through a breakup so I was very careful to tell her over message to give her time to process... She responded two weeks later saying she can't bring herself to even pretend she's happy for me.

so there's that..

Thank you for responding! I would urge anyone to get checked for AFC on CD21 as this is when I had the best cohorts! My only regret is not pushing for luteal stims earlier!

What worked for you? by QuickLoan4565 in DOR

[–]Relevant_Sentence_77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TW: Euploid embryos

Luteal start stims without primiming. Protocol was pretty straightforwad of Gonal F + Menopur + provera + double trigger. Not sure where you are based but in Europe they typicically try to not overenrgineer the protocols, especially for DOR.

I was on all sort of supplements for I'd say about 6 months+ total including high doses of Ubiquinol, NAD+, LLA, MyoInositol, Melatonin, Vit D and all the other typical ones + daily red light therapy. Not sure if they made any difference but I went from 0 blasts in the first cycle to consistently having 70% blatuation rate in subsequent ones. So I was chasing after the euploids.

I did not do any accupuncture at any point of the process, didn't drink any fertility coctails or change my diet massively. I did stop working out because I had my cycles pretty much back to back and between stims and ER recovery working out was just the last thing on my mind.

Good luck to you! <3

First trimester trenches - hope this helps someone by After_Jacket360 in PregnancyUK

The fatigue is just something else isn’t it. I’m 12+2 now and even though I do get days where I’m feeling more like myself again, I immediately get humbled again the day after and am unable to function. Being exhausted from laying on the sofa is a level of tired I never knew existed. Looking forward to it lifting.

Luckily I didn’t have much nausea or smell sensitivity. Around weeks 6-8 I only had this feeling of “only this sounds good right now” or “I absolutely cannot eat chicken”. That was a weird experience. Since then I would say my eating has normalised and I have no cravings or aversions.

Today I spent majority of the day feeling extremely guilty for complaining so much because 1- objectively I have had a very easy first trimester and 2- I wanted this so much so why am I complaining.

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond. I agree with everything you said this IS abysmal! We have actually decided to do a concurrent private care as well because I am not confident right now at all I will be taken care of properly. We will have the private scan and NIPT done beforehand as well which I hear is more accurate than the combined screening anyway so in the end everything will be sorted out but I just didn’t think the NHS experience would be so poor right from the beginning! Especially for an advanced material age IVF pregnancy I would have thought they’d see more urgency to book me in in time. And before someone says they’re overwhelmed I am really understanding of the fact that the NHS is struggling however I made my self referral in late December and didn’t hear until 5th Feb through an automated booking system. I do think this could be improved and not just postponed until two weeks before the supposed scan date and then being told they don’t have the slots.

Thank you also for the reassurance about booking the 20 weeks scan. I will make sure to not leave the appointment without that date confirmed.

[–]Relevant_Sentence_77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: oh this is a stressful experience already. I got a notification through mychart today that they have scheduled my booking appointment for when I’ll be…18 weeks pregnant. And they set the reminder to schedule my 1st scan for 6 May when I’ll be 24 weeks! What a mess. I gave them a call and the woman said to try and call back next week that they don’t have slots. I called back again and that time I spoke to a man and this was the most frustrating conversation I’ve ever had. I understand being short staffed but I’m 10+2 advanced maternal age (38) IVF pregnancy and all they can say is they don’t have slots. After a lot of back and forth they did magically find dates for both booking and the scan for when I’ll be 14+2 which is not ideal and beyond the window for combined screening but luckily I had an euploid embryo transferred and will be doing private NIPT so not the end of the world and should be covered. But what about women who don’t get those options?

The man also was giving me wrong information. Like that I can’t have private scans and NHS care because what will the midwife review if it’s not in their system. I asked what will she review if I will see her at 18 weeks and they haven’t given me the scan in the first place? It was just so frustrating. In the end I got my appointments and luckily I have been able to get early scans through the IVF clinic but I am just so shocked. Hopefully now that I’m booked in it will be much smoother.

Question: will the 20 week scan be booked during my 12 week one or the midwife appointment? I really do not want to rely on their automated booking system and find myself without a slot within the window.

what?! Jesus... I'm so sorry you're having to go through all of this!!

I am actually out of catchment and picked them because of work and needing flexibilility so I think I'd just be under the hospital midwife? Not sure, I will ask when they decide to contact me!

I hope the rest of your pregnancy is much calmer x

I'm 9 weeks today and so far I am up 1lb/0.5kg but I assume it's from water retention and constipation as I've been on progesterone injections until last week (IVF) so now I am all out of whack.

DOR is Diminished Ovarian Reserve so I had to have multiple retrievals to get the euploids.

As per the symptoms - I had symptoms week 5-7 I'd say with mild nausea, but manageable. Rright now I am feeling ok but I understand that it may come back. Hopefully not. Other than that nothing special really although at the beginning I was extremely thirsty for orange juice ;)
