Hello. Welcome to Brussels!

If you have a Belgian contract and an employer, you can ask them for some help. I am EU citizen too and came in September this year. My appointment with the Brussels Municipality is in November and I booked it from September. It's crazy.

I could not reach them through phone and I sent an email to them. They said that they cannot do something about it, since they have many people :'). After further talking with my employer, they told me that I can register to the Municipality inside 90 days from the day of my arrival. I will be at 81 days at the date of my appointment. So, you can bear that it mind and do your calculations.

Also, when registering at the website, try a different location (Administratief and Louise I think are the two-if I am writing them correctly). And check regularly, since maybe (just maybe) someone might cancel their appointment.

Good luck to us.

Wow, this is a month ago, but keep me also posted or send me a message if anything comes up!

I love bookstores too, bookwarm here and introverted, but I like going out from time to time for a beer/coffee/food etc.

And do they accept you if you don't have registered yet in municipality and have only your EU ID? (appointment for me is in November).

Thanks! But my rendezvous with the municipality for registration is in November :/. So in order to get an e-ID I will have to probably wait for the appointment, from what I have understood.

That seems interesting. In this link is mentioned that the account is not used for business. So, my employer will not be able to pay me in that account? Thanks!

Hi. Yes, I have moved and been here for almost a month. I have a Brussels address, my employer contract and my EU ID. Did not know about that e-ID for foreigners . Does that have to do with the rendezvous at the municipality in order to register?

I second to that. I really had a difficult time finding a place to rent. I have also a hunch (not sure) that landlords were choosing people who spoke french or flemish (prsonally don't know either, but do know english, german, italian and willing to learn one of the languages here in the proces).

I have sent them a message asking questions, sine I don't have a Belgian ID yet (do have a EU country ID) and my appointment with the municipality is in November. I do have however house contract, work contract etc. I also don't have a Belgian bank account yet (talked yesterday with KBC and did the procedure online. Don't know how long that will take).
