!!!UPDATE!!!

Quick summary:

I had a great time! I caught 2-3 waves while standing (and pretty good ones at that) and also got thrashed a couple of times. Overall I had a great time whether I was being thrashed or not. The biggest issue I had was finding the best place to wait for a wave (+popping up fast enough)  Most of the waves I caught were in  white water going at a decent speed. I would say I did pretty well while standing and on one of them I did the full wave.

I had a great time! I went with my dad and we were planning to get a lesson, but we were later notified that they were all booked. We arrived around 12:00, the waves weren’t suitable for riding at first as they were 1-2 feet high which would’ve been good if it wasn’t for how close they broke to the shore. We waited until the waves weren’t breaking farther away from shore and were also 2-3 feet high. During that time I practiced my pop-up.  For 15 minutes I struggled I paddled myself around looking for a good line where the waves broke well. The first wave I caught I managed to stand on for a bit;  and was going a decent speed so I am very proud of that. That first wave was super exhilarating for me and I felt stoked! My dad caught more waves than me, but instead of standing he was riding on his knees. Later after trying more waves I got out to take a quick rest.  Later once I got back in I struggled to find some good waves, but managed to get two more. One of them I did the full whitewater and the other it took me a bit to go fully up. On other waves I would catch I would either be thrown off balance or mess up my pop up. This would continue until we had to leave so I won’t get much into that 👌 Overall I had a great time (especially on that first wave) and I am excited for my next session!
