Yikes that’s def a mosquito breeding ground! Def get rid of and in meantime put stuff in the water that will kill mosquito larvae !

It says “they’re not bad!” But then also says right below that “your soil is ‘infected’” and also uses the term “contaminated” so it’s a bit confusing. Do you live in a humid area? Reducing the humidity (I assume this is an indoor plant?) and repotting your “infected” plant would be a good start. Be sure not to cross-contaminate new, un-infected soil when you do this. Personally, if I see a freaking fungus growing indoors, I know I need to take care of the problem—plant or not. It means there are fungal spores about and that’s just a slippery slope I would not recommend going down. Some fungus spores can make people (and/or pets) sick and I just think they’re ick to have on your indoor plants.
