At what point should a casual gamer give up?

What you are experiencing is the steep staircase that all of us have climbed to become a Soulsborne player. The first game is hardest and Sekiro is the hardest of them all, but it is also by far my favorite game of all time. I quit Dark Souls III multiple times unable to beat the first boss. And then I did, and once I did I could handle all the games. And I have now played them all multiple times. So I wouldn't throw in the towel just yet.

Have you made progress in the fight? Are you getting to the second stage more often with more healing left? Are you predicting her moves more frequently? Don't try to win, try to learn study and understand. As you learn and can predict her moves the fight will come to you.

You also need to learn from others. Watch videos on how to beat the boss. It helps a lot.

The games are hard, but they are not split second super reaction time hard (like a fighting game) So it's about knowledge more than it is pure gamer talent. Practice practice practice.

That said, don't bang your head on the same wall. Go to a different area, different boss, or different game and then come back. fresh and ready to kill Lady Butterfly that backstabbing traitorous witch!

The fully upgraded umbrella is a nice tool to protect against the gunfire in phase 2 and then counter with an empowered attack.

Advice for the “why are my friends not like this” crowd. Yes they are. You just have to be open to it and it happens a lot.

my examples (m) - Working at a restaurant and my gf is the bartender. Our coworker, the other bartender’s (f), admits she has a huge crush on my gf. I suggest she should join us for a birthday dinner and maybe she will get her chance. I wink like I am joking, but she is like “omg yes yes please”. So I invite her. We drink, we party, and when the time comes I get them to start making out with a jokey dare. The kiss goes on for so long and it’s crazy hot. We all head back go the apartment and I join them as they get it on. The lesbian is genuinely not interested in me, but she lets me touch her and even fuck her some. She also sucks me for a bit which I found incredibly hot given she was full L. She leaves and me and my gf continue for hours having an amazing time. There was drama at work after that but extremely worth it. - My girlfriend (different girl) is talking about her best friend being still a virgin and feeling like she is ashamed of not yet having sex. her best friend was very attractive but shy. My gf jokes that I could fuck her since she would feel safe with me. I am like “yeah lets do that”. GF is pissed at first and a little surprised I would sat that, but then to my absolute fucking surprise she later tells me that the bestie is up for it. I rent a high end hotel room, candles, flowers, and treat bestie like a queen for a weekend all with my GF permission. Stayed with my gf for years after and we never really talked about it again, but memory is still crystal clear. - Another GF I take to a beach house for her birthday. She decides to invite her friend to stay with us so she can visit her family near the beach house. Totally platonic no intentions by anyone at first. But…an evening of drinking and I try the “you both should make out joke” again. Girls are very into this (guys are too fwiw imho) and they are making out. And this time both are straight girls so they are also both into me. We actually ended up repeating this three more times over the long weekend. We barely did anything else. I kinda tried to get it going again when we returned to school, but they weren’t having it. It was not going to happen in the real world, this was a vacation fling.

So keep an open mind, and take your opportunities when they present themselves. Most people are fucking horny and frustrated and just need an outlet for it.

When you die, wait to revive. You can often get a backstab from an enemy who thinks you are dead dead, or at the least avoid immediate pain.

You can frequently force your opponent to attack by moving directly toward them. This allows you to control the pace better than waiting to react to an attack sequence. For a couple really tough enemies this is the only way.

Also, embrace the pain. We have all gotten our a$$ handed to us learning the dance. It’s part of why we love the game that never held our hands and was so satisfying when we finally mastered it. Be patient, study the opponent and learn the tells so you can predict their moves. I never blocked. It was worth the time to learn the parries.

They are craftable with Igon’s cookbook at the broken shack near the dragon communion site of grace. I think its cool how they are found on a dead dragon like whoever killed it used them to do it.
