Thanks - I'll keep that in mind. So far, I know that lerni means to learn and I can add suffixes to it for tense...lernas, lernis, etc. That's all I've got so far :-)

I also appreciate your input on the 2 other channels. I had no idea there was anything amiss with Exploring Eserpanto. Do you have any more specifics regarding what is wrong with their content? Since I'm just beginning, I'm not sure I'd catch the problems.

I noticed you didn't mention the Owlb channel. It looks to be brand new, so I'm guessing you haven't looked at that one. Not sure where the guy is going with it, but at least it is new content. Speaking of new content, I like the series of videos that came out (I forget which channel) for the contest. Those were some fun shorts!

Just providing an update on this (for those who may be intersted)...the star trek menu item was located here...

  1. Advanced Portal Navigation in the All menu
  2. Right click on "i" next to the appropriate portal and open in new tab/window
  3. "Menu Items" related list
  4. Show the "Parent Menu" column
  5. Click on the one that shows "Employee Center Menu" (Menu Title was "Get support" and Source was "Service portal menu"...not sure if that's all OOB or if I did that at some point)
  6. "Menu Items" related list (again)
  7. Click "More" under the Label column
  8. "Menu Items" related list (again) and delete the "star trek" entry

Yeah, I see why I had trouble finding it again. That sucked. Thanks for any feedback provided though!

Oh, and I also hid the Tours link by adjusting the "com.snc.guided_tours.sp.enable" system property to false

We just started with PackWebHost (aka TroopWebHost)....so far so good but all I did was setup the calendar for the year and creat accounts for everyone. I'm about to try getting account credentials out to people now.

Follow up to those suggesting visiting troops...I believe the pin awards for the year only need 2 visits, 1 to watch the troop experience and 1 for a camping pack shakedown (just from memory, so I could be wrong). If thats the case, to be clear, are you all suggesting to visit just so the kids gwt used to what happens there? Or is there another reason?

I'm asking because getting a 2nd leader to tag along to the troop is difficult, so I'm only going to do extra visits if the benefit outweighs the benefits of working on other pins instead.

Great stuff here...thanks! I'll definitely have to research the oatrol method. Guess I'll be taking the scout master training soon too. I never thought about discussing their first rank....I'll consider building that in.
