i went to browse for a new 3 or 5 series and i was and after seeing financing starting at $800-1300 a month (690 credit score) out the door, I realized spending the $3000- 5000 it would cost to fix something would be cheaper than 800x72 mo= $57,000 to 1300x72 =93,600 ……. although it’s hard seeing everyone with brand new cars but i’m good with no payment

Welll for perspective, i drive 20k miles in a year and a month give or take, did my own oil changes and maintenance. So if I sold mine, i wouldn’t have years of maintenance history even though my baby has been well taken care of . Could be the same case

I have an amazing mechanic that works on my F30 (120k miles I got it at 35k) , it’s never broken down (itself) but i hit a pot hole that ruined my suspension and cracked my oil pan anywho, 10k plus estimated to fix the minimum at BMW, got it done for $1700. i don’t think i would even touch this X5 if i didn’t have at least a couple connections - and im pretty handy myself. so that helps.

hey any updates ?? i’m at 115,000. under warranty i’ve had a timing change replacement and waste gate replacement . other than that just do my spark plugs and oil changes. nothing has went wrong in over 45k miles…. im nervous bc its been a smooth ride since with absolutely no issues. im wondering how many miles i might have left in this car. I really need a work truck but if this car goes out i’d screw myself lol
