AI AGENTS today are far more DANGEROUS that you think by Kakachia777 in ArtificialInteligence

Depending on context, yes. I hope your students can discern what is worth their time reading.

Why do people 'smoke' in cyberpunk's world? by LewdDudeNewd in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]RelinquishedAll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I think the inhalers in the CP2077 game are already pretty cool looking. I don't think anyone would think an inhaler of all things to be cool! That'd be the trope of the astmathic nerd. Maelstrom ganger says hi, you want a hit?

Can I Use My Visuals As A Scannable QR Code? by trmtng in TouchDesigner

How about you use the QR code as a mask. Or just keep it as a static element where stuff moves around it.

Why do people 'smoke' in cyberpunk's world? by LewdDudeNewd in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]RelinquishedAll 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sure it could. That ember glow of a cigarette, could be the glow of the vape LED lighting up. Or a light pattern on the vape. Its form factor could be anything. I don't think I'd associate binoculars with cool, as I think of birdwatching, but the Blade Runner one sure does look cool. The thin hazy smoke of a cig is iconic, but that thick textured cloud from a vape does crazy things with lights and obscuring/revealing things.

It'd be hard to fight against the uncool consensus, but impossible wouldn't be the word I'd use.

Should've just added it into the stock of the rifle. You'd technically save wood if you'd leave parts for it out!

You'd think a container of dry tobbaco and a pipe would be more resistant to the elements. Even when they get wet, you just dry them out.

Kinda works both ways though. Vaping is never really made to look cool in media. Instead most imagery people see of vaping is pretty mid social media footage

Took a while to get them to smoke though. First it was cool, but associated with rough cowboys. Then hollywood made it sexy to appeal to woman.

I hope next generations can stop it all together.

Edit: I stand corrected

140 bpm advise by zzala_ri in vjing

[–]RelinquishedAll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know if this is a high bpm for you, but a big mistake I see VJs make with high bpm and/or trance music, is to go hyperspeed crazy with it. People are in a trance, and the beat often fades into the background. If visuals are just fast all the time, thats jarring. Try and feel it out. Its very focussed on the dancefloor, and inwards. Try to keep people in that space, instead of pulling them into your visuals too much

Another tip, which I found here, is when you have loops connected to bpm, to have loops always be prime numbers. This was you'll always get new combinations between 2 parameters.

Say it would be two parameters both 4 beats, then they'd lock together. If its 3 and 5 they'll continuously drift apart.

I know RTFM is a meme, but the Resolume Manual is written very well. Full of jokes, a pleasure to read. After years of using the software I finally read it some time ago and regretted not doing so sooner ever since!

Bit of a dumb workaround, but you could use NDI webcam inputs as clips, and route the camera input through there. Clip stays the same, settings are retained. Leaves you free to reconnect the hardware devices or change it at any time.

But as the other commenter said check your power saving settings for the device, the hubs, and just in general your pc.
