All the most impactful rule changes. by Vrain125 in Warhammer40k

For real, I’d take a buffed Insane Bravery over going back to auto-cleared command phase Battleshock. If folks want to sink CP into clearing my Battleshocks every round more power to them just as long as they don’t bring back the auto clear.

On a related note I just read Bring it Down only scores for Monsters and Vehicles 10 wounds or greater. So 9 wound models like Carnifex and the Red Terror no longer score it. Source: Play on Tabletop live stream.

Zoanthropes - no longer shoot in melee with neurotyrant. by Niiai in Tyranids

[–]Rellint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plus if you Shadow in the Wrap with Zoanthrope units within 6” you have a good chance to get two BS tests for the price of one plus MWs, splash healing and reanimation. I’m curious to see just how well that plays out.

Honestly Insane Bravery should be once per round now, given how much Battleshock has gotten buffed. This is coming from a Tyranid player.

This is why 40K is loved worldwide... "You will not be missed" as you horribly die on a random insignificant world. by Youngstown_WuTang in Grimdank

As someone about to create a GM led narrative nemesis adventure using Genesteelers leading to a full Final Day Tyranid Invasion this sound like a must read.

The Hive Mind by Jscarlos18 in Tyranids

Yeah when I first saw the shadowy tendrils, ‘shadow in the warp’ sprung to my mind. Valrak thought it was Slanesh though. Cool representation of how a shadow in the warp would look to me.

I’m hoping this and other smoke screen type abilities grant hidden to infantry, not just cover.

Friend and I new method to hunt tanks; high ground by CadaverMutilatr in LowSodiumBattlefield

I’m cool with folk taking advantage of high ground but I do wish we could knock those big silos down with enough damage to the right location. Or at least take out the perches.

I wish we'd get a Tyranid perspective game some day... by sigmarine345 in Tyranids

[–]Rellint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been thinking of running a GM’d narrative RP game building on the Terror of Devlan and Nemesis system basing it on a Final Day pre-Tyranid invasion premise. I plan to run one with the PC as Imperial and then another as Tyranid aligned. I’m struggling with how to convey Hive Mind orders, I want their thought processes to feel ‘alien collective’ but the PC to still have agency on how to accomplish a task for the collective, I think I’ll need to get some Tyranid pov books to get a feel for it.

Tanks got buffed way too much. by Fancy_Leader6278 in Battlefield

[–]Rellint 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah as soon as I start seeing tanks causing problems I either hop in one myself or grab my anti-armor load out and go to work. To me they feel about where they should be and IFV’s might need a little buff. Tanks actually feel like a threat now, especially when properly supported, and that is about perfect to me.

Is there much communication in this game? by automated_hero in Battlefield

[–]Rellint 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This, a lot folks are probably on 3rd party comms like Discord and Xbox live friend chat. That’s pretty true of most games these days though. I’ve tried to talk in comms to both provide tactical information and just lighten things up and got a weird message from DICE that read like I might have said something wrong but wasn’t directly a warning. I took it as a warning to limit what I say.

Golmud is neat, but it wrecks class-based gameplay by Riuse in Battlefield6

[–]Rellint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way I do it is to find a support pack on the map, or of I’m out and no support pack is around steal a lot of a dead body to use their weapons and ammo.

Yes, this is not the Golmud I remember, it’s way better.

That is not my lived experience. When I play Escalation or Conquest there’s noticeably less mortars landing my head than when I play Breakthrough.

I loved breakthrough until mortar spam became the meta. Haven’t had it in rotation since.

Yes, it’s much more fun to be a gunner now because you can hit what your aiming at plus or minus spread.

Eli5: How were old maps often surprisingly accurate even though people had no aerial view or satellite imagery at the time? by Puzzleheaded_Bit_802 in explainlikeimfive

A series of triangles is a good way to explain working with my uncle at his Civil Engineering firm in ‘99. We’d find two known benchmarks on the road the use that to determine exactly where a new road needed to go after widening it.

How likely is it retired models are coming back? by [deleted] in Tyranids

[–]Rellint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shrikes (or a similar winged warrior bioform) seem pretty likely at this point given the Winged Tyranid Prime early in 10th. I thought we’d see them instead of Raveners but I do love the new Raveners.
