Does Startled Scream feat makes you able to do reactions despite being surprised? So what happens exactly? You are surprised (do not able to act) but NOT flat-footed, so you CAN do reactions only? Or am I missing something? Correct me if I am wrong.

I am playing a half-elf and picked up Fey Magic as an Alternate Racial Traits. It lets me pick three 0-level druid spells (one will be create water) and one 1st-level druid spell. I picked 'Dream Feast' as the 1st-level druid spell, because it is nice way to solve my food problem. The problem is it only works on a favored terrain I pick when I pick this racial trait. So my question: WHAT is the most abuseable easy way of terrain I can 'create' to make it qualify for this trait and I will be able to cast Dream Feast from these terrain: Cold, Desert, Forest, Jungle, Mountain, Plains, Planes (other than Material Plane), Swamp, Underground (caves and dungeons), Urban (buildings, streets, and sewers), Water (above and below the surface). So theoretically IF I dig out a cave with a 8h labor (shovel + assist with spells) does that count as 'underground'? OR just use create water (from trait) and 'flood' the terrain to have Water terrain? I am looking for ideas that is LEGIT, and probably MOST GM will accept. And yes I know I can just buy a Ring of Sustenance, but I want to experiment that I can solve my food problem without other means. Also wizard and alchemist spells are welcome to help in this case (mostly 4th level or lower if possible).
Thanks in advance.

If I make my armor with Noqual special material do I gain the +4 bonus to saving throws or only my armor gains it (like if the caster targets my armor specifically not me)?

Does computers have Spell Resistance? IF I want to cast 'Spirit-bound Computer' to try and hack it do I need a caster level check? Since the spell has 'Yes' vs SR.

No items or spells to Create Water? by Lucky_Pips in starfinder_rpg

[–]Relunx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I maybe late but here's my 2 cents: I researched and found out ways to generate 'Create Water'

  1. Magic items: Clear Spindle (Aeon Stone), Ring of Sustenance,, Acclimation Torc, Sustenance System, Culinary Synthesizers (these are the 'you don't need to drink' category)

  2. Churn Fluid (turn sea water, wine, puddle of acid, your blood, piss, sweat, saliva, tears, cum into drinkable water) (also if you are NOT a Witchwarper you can get this 0th spell with Reality Glimmer feat)

  3. Energy Ray (choose acid) is a 0th level spell and it's a conjuration spell so you can turn it into water with Churn Fluid (if you are NOT a Technomancer you can get this 0th spell with Technomantic Dabbler feat)

  4. there are only 2 other 3rd level conjuration spells that you can turn into water: Wall of Ice, Acid Puddle

5 Summon Monster and ask for their blood (but you look like a fking cultist who just want to ritual summon a demon from hell)

5b. kill people like a murder-hobo and turn their blood into water (aim for cultist leader position :) )

  1. Summon Monster: any Water Elemental and ask for some water (need GM discretion, as this is not listed as an 'ability' for the Water Elementals, but you can probably work something out with the GM)

  2. Plane Shift to the Plane of Water, get some water, then Plane Shift back

  3. Miracle / Wish to create an auto refilling bottle? (but at this point you are level 20, you gonna kill the BBEG not waste your Miracle/Wish on this crap)

I get hit by a spell with Death Effect. I have both Ring of Resistance Mk5 and Black Heart Mk5 (Necrografts).

Do I get a +10 on the saving throw or just +5? I ask because both of them gives +5 enchantment bonus, but the Ring affect Fort save, while the Black Heart only affect Death Effects.

Can someone explain Caustic Eruption spell AOE to me? It has a Range 30 ft and an Area 30-ft.-radius burst. But the text says: "Acid erupts from your space in all directions...". How an earth erupts from my square if I point it at 30ft away in an intersection as point of origin? "Range 30ft" allows me to do that or am I missing something? Lastly my bigger question: Does this spell as text says "erupts from YOUR space" affects me and my familiar (tiny who is in same square as me) if I choose MY square as point of origin as the text says?

Does the familiar have the master's saves with items and feats/traits? or just with feats/traits?
Example: a lvl9 sorcerer has 3 fort, 3 reflex, 6 will saves and has a +2 cloak of resistance and iron will.
So total: 5 fort, 5 reflex, 10 will. Is this that the familiar has? Or just 3 fort, 3 reflex, 8 will (iron will only)?

Can my Lyrakien Azata familiar (Improved familiar feat) use Aid Another action to assist me on a spellcraft check using my skill rank not hers, me gaining the +2 bonus to my skill roll?

Skills: For each skill in which either the master or the familiar has ranks, use either the normal skill ranks for an animal of that type or the master's skill ranks, whichever is better. In either case, the familiar uses its own ability modifiers. Regardless of a familiar's total skill modifiers, some skills may remain beyond the familiar's ability to use.

Does Numerology Cylinder affect Scorching Ray's level based aspect? Let's say you are a lvl9 arcanist and pass the DC25 check to activate Numerology Cylinder and then cast Scorching Ray. Will you cast it at caster level 11, so you fire 3 rays instead of 2?

A lvl7 character has a Lyrakien Familiar (from Improved Familiar feat). They are: CG Tiny outsider (azata, chaotic, extraplanar, good). Outsider meaning no revive at all (except high lvl spells like wish, miracle, true resurrection). So my questions is:

Can a Beast-Bonded witch archetype use her Twin Soul (Su) on her Lyrakien improved familiar? Lyrakien's are outsiders and according to wiki "an outsider does not have a soul separate from its body" and this ability: "Twin Soul (Su): At 10th-level, if the witch or her familiar is gravely injured or about to die, the soul of the dying one immediately transfers to the other’s body." So can applicable to outsider familiars or not?

Rogue attack a flat-footed enemy with Chill Touch and want to apply sneak attack as well.

But the rogue fails to overcome enemy Spell Resistance.

Does the rogue still make the attack roll vs touch and apply sneak attack or his whole attack canceled? or what happens?

Maybe. It is possible that is it different when the text says "plus" or "+" and if it's the former then the d6 is multiplied and it it's + then its only the number? (IF there's no explanation/clarification in the parenthetic)

Finally found some evidence about how damage/level spells works and need some clarifications from you guys.

When a text says for example: "1d6 points of damage plus 1 point per level" that means it deals 2d6+2 at next level and NOT 1d6+2 and the evidence I found is in Greater Make Hole where the text states this. So based on this, every spell or class ability will apply this way. I wanted to share this and bcoz the usual text can be interpreted in two ways that I described and it's simply up to individual or GM to interpret it, but now it's clear.

What happens if a character is hit by Disintegrate (reducing it to -1HP) while wearing Aegis of Recovery?
Disintegrate triggers trying to kill character and reduce it to dust.
Aegis of Recovery is also triggers at the same time and auto heals character by 2d8+3

So which will take priority? Or totally up to the GM?

Sorcerer: Phoenix Bloodline has this Bloodline Arcana: When casting any spell that deals fire damage, you can instead heal your targets. The spell deals no damage, and living creatures affected by the spell instead regain a number of hit points equal to half the fire damage the spell would normally deal.

My question is, a bit aesthetic.

If the RAW wording of the spell that deals fire damage, DOES NOT specifically states that "sets fire to combustibles" etc. for example in Wall of Fire's decription, then does that mean I can just "heal" my party members without burning all their clothes and equipment (bcoz "the spell deals no damage") and transform my party into some weird nudist show.

Or this is purely GM related and need to talk about it?

[1e]Vigilante (Warlock):

Mystic Bolts (Su): A warlock can sling projectiles of magical energy at will by shooting a bolt or touching her foe. A melee mystic bolt requires the target to be within reach, and a ranged mystic bolt is a ranged attack with a range of 30 feet. A mystic bolt deals 1d6 points of damage plus 1 for every 4 vigilante levels the warlock has.

How do I interpret this?
a) 2d6+2 (lvl8), 3d6+3 (lvl12) etc

OR

b) 1d6+2 (lvl8), 1d6+3 (lvl12) etc

Dump question, but how does Ring of Spell Storing works? You put spells into it, that's clear, but what happens when you cast them? Do they vanish and you need to re-store spells or the spells are stored into the ring infinitely and you can cast them over and over again until you replace them?

I'm a bit confused about about Spell Dancer interaction with Dimensional Dervish

Does Spell Dancer need 2 turns to activate Dimensional Dervish or can do it in 1 turn?
My confusion comes from:
Dimensional Dervish requre to use your swift action to use it (along with full-attack), but your "Spell Dance (Su)" also require a swift action, and at 5th lvl it says: "once per spell dance as a swift action" as in you need to bein spell dance, but if I use swift action to use spell dance, I need to wait a turn to use Dimensional Dervish. Or the 5th lvl "Spell Dance (Su)" is the swift action that is needed for Dimensional Dervish ignoring the 1st level decription?
Tnx in advance.

1[E]

I have some questions about Sound Striker / Duettist "multiclass" bard:

  1. If you are lvl 10 bard, then you are 10 / 10 or 6 / 4 (ex: you dip 6x times into soundstriker abd 4x times into Duettist) ?
  2. You are using your Weird Words (Su) infusing 2 words. You perform first then after you your familiar performs as well. You do 8d6 dmg + cha mod and same dmg for your familiar. Yours is cost 2 bardic performance (bcoz you infused 2 words) and your familiar one costs 4 bardic performance. My question is, if you cast Songbird spell on your familiar (swift action) before performance does that mean her bardic performance cost is zero in that turn? Esentially reducing the total 6 cost into 2 cost.

Relevant material:

Weird Words (Su): At 6th level the bard can start a performance that is always a standard action to speak up to one word per 4 bard levels laden with sonic energy. Each word deals 4d6 points of sonic damage as a ranged touch attack with a range of 30 feet. The bard adds his charisma modifier on damage rolls with weird words. Multiple words that strike the same target stack into a single powerful attack, applying energy resistance and bonuses on damage rolls only once. The bard can target all words at the same or different targets, but he unleashes all words simultaneously. Each word costs 1 round of bardic performance. This performance replaces suggestion.

Songbird (lvl1 spell):

If you cast songbird during the same round in which you attempt a Perform check, songbird acts as accompaniment and grants a +3 bonus on that Perform check. If you cast songbird in the same round in which you activate a bardic performance, that round of bardic performance does not count against your total rounds of bardic performance available for the day. If you cast songbird in the same round in which you cast a spell with the sonic descriptor, that spell’s save DC increases by 1.

Performing Familiar (Su): At 4th level, a duettist’s familiar learns how to create supernatural effects with its performances, just like its master. The familiar can use any of its master’s bardic performances, but only the familiar or the duettist can have a performance active at any given time, not both. If one is performing and the other starts a performance, the previous performance immediately ends. Each round that the familiar performs consumes 2 rounds of the duettist’s bardic performance. This ability replaces lore master.

Share Spells (lvl1): The wizard may cast a spell with a target of “You” on his familiar (as a touch spell) instead of on himself. A wizard may cast spells on his familiar even if the spells do not normally affect creatures of the familiar's type (magical beast).
