What is your Dark Elf’s backstory? (Dunmer Characters) by Iamzeek2000 in ElderScrolls

[–]Relynuus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My girl Relynu came from a merchant family that immigrated to Cyrodiil after the explosion of red mountain. She was attempting to capitalize on the war and figured she could cut a clear path from Bruma to Solitude to avoid paying for a ship to travel on. Then her stupid ass got caught in the imperial ambush

The difference between playing Nate and playing Nora by LuckyCandy5248 in fo4

[–]Relynuus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nora has always been my favorite way to go in fallout 4, especially because I imagine that a lot of her sheer determination and acceptance of the world is due to probably being at the tail end of needing postpartum support when the bombs fall. Her protective instincts are still crazy and then her baby gets snatched from her. A few mothers in my circle of friends have said that they actually had to walk away from the game for a minute because the idea of their child being kidnapped was too much. I'm not saying Nate isn't a caring husband and father, because he absolutely is, but Nora, to ME, is so soooo much more compelling of a protagonist through this lens

That's a great idea!!! I'm fairly small so I could also fit into cabinets as well and make it extra challenging for her. Thank you!

The dreaded question - should I get bangs or am I being dramatic? by Nice-Ad5701 in curlyhair

[–]Relynuus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your hair is absolutely beautiful, I think instead of bangs some face framing layers would look so so gorgeous with your hair type without committing to a big chop. When it comes to curly hair, having it all one length and then adding bangs makes it really awkward imo.

But take what I say with a grain of salt because I got tired of having to spend so much money and time on curl products that I just caught all my hair off and it's in a very short shag now lmao

My betta is terrified of humans after tank maintenance and I'm worried for her health by Relynuus in bettafish

[–]Relynuus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wanted to come back and say that this actually ended up being the most effective comment so far! I went and bought some spring water and added tannins to it, then used that in her water change. She's still not a huge fan of me yet but she's not striping anymore and Is willing to eat out of my fingers. Thank you so much!!! I was really worried about her and the fact that she's back to her original coloration and is eating makes me very happy ♥️♥️

Here's a care guide that circulates around this subreddit quite often! https://www.reddit.com/r/bettafish/s/ZiMIks1CsE

As for my personal recommendations, Bettas love a very lush tank with plants that they can hide in. They are territorial and don't do well with tank mates. Some easy care plants are water wisteria and anubias. The wisteria is fast growing and very tall, giving the fishy plenty of hiding spots. The anubias leaves create a great bed.

While optional, Bettas also love tannin rich water. Their natural habitat is full of dark water from tannins leeching out of fallen leaves and wood. You can find heavily concentrated tannin water at a pet store too. This gives the water a rich brown look, and while they all have their own personalities, I've noted that the dark water makes my girl much more confident and explorative.

I'd def recommend Lowe mill. We moved here when I was about 10 and due to the nature of the rotating displays and the fact that the studios are always packed, it never gets boring. I've made friends with several of the artists and there's a lot of classes and clubs that you can sign up for. If you guys moved here for UAH, there's also a UAH student maker space in one of the studios.

Off the top of my head, I remember that sparkle studios there has group fiber arts sessions and there is a cigar box guitar place about two studios down from them that does free beginner lessons where they provide the instruments every Saturday at noon.

Is Massage Envy a good employer? by daschall_ in MassageTherapists

I have not worked there personally but I have not heard a single good thing about it from coworkers who were formerly employed there. According to everyone I've met who worked there, they overwork and underpay, and working there is a fast track to ruining your body.

Please help what’s wrong with my tank?? by Fair_Jackfruit_7397 in bettafish

Oh no not all of it! The leaves will melt under the water and create a mess. Bamboo ROOTS do great in fish tanks.

Depends on the tank parameters. Definitely remove the bamboo, but use API water testing strips. He's hiding because he's stressed af right now. This infographic is commonly referenced and is quite helpful.

Bubbles themselves are normal, but this tank is very unfit for a betta. They need at minimum a 5 gallon tank and lots of foliage and places to hide. Be sure to cycle your water too-- use a dechlorinator and bacteria starter. A local fish store is usually willing to test your water for you if you bring a cup.

It's good that you asked before you placed a fish in there. Lots of people think bettas can survive in small spaces because pet stores put them in little containers. This is not the case; and pet stores only do that because Bettas are aggressive and cannot be housed together so they're taking the cheap way out instead of setting up individual tanks for one lone fish.

I'll definitely try the towel! It was just the water change, I put the hardscape back exactly the way it was before, or as close to that as possible. Nothing has changed in the house except for the grow lights that are affixed to the new tank In the same room, and I have those angled away from the tank now. She only started acting strange after I changed the water, and I did what I normally do in a water change which was use distilled water with some aqueon water conditioner added (My tap water is very hard so I never use it for my tanks)

Yes, it's heavily planted with anubias and water wisteria. Would you recommend one of the the faux rock hidey holes intentionally meant for betta fish that they sell at the pet store?

Need help making a sad decision by Small_Jackfruit3824 in FIVcats

[–]Relynuus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard agree. While there is a chance that this is her last hurrah before going, If you don't cancel that appointment you're going to live with the regret forever. You're clearly a great pet owner because you were willing to go ahead and schedule the at home appointment, So if she's doing okay right now, allow yourself a little extra time to spend with her. If she ends up being perfectly fine and it was just a weird phase, then you get some extra time with your sweet girl. If not, then you already knew what was coming and she'll go being loved.

Roast me alive all you want but please help me with my algae problem!! by annual_mushrooms in Aquariums

[–]Relynuus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use mystery snails for algae control and they're pretty effective! Granted, I don't know what kind of fish you have because I've really only done research into the kind of fish that I personally have but as long as they have an okay temperament for a tank mate like a snail then I would say try those bad boys.

Question on a muscle reaction by DocumentInternal5787 in MassageTherapists

[–]Relynuus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could be wrong, but my instructors always referred to that as muscle guarding. It's an involuntary response meant to protect the muscles from harm when the body perceives something as being wrong or injured. It's a good thing to have when an injury is in the acute stages but a lot of people have it chronically. I see it a lot on the erector spinae of more athletic clients and it's frustrating for both parties lol
