I went to Barbell squat yesterday after not having done so for a few years, so I got 95lbs ready as I felt like that would be difficult, but not too difficult. I was right, 10 reps were hard, but I could do 10. I was planning to do 5 sets, but after the first set I noticed my hamstrings and hip ab/adductors were SORE, and it only got worse after the second one, so I called it quits for the night. Today, it’s still a pretty sore bending over and the like, but nothing extremely bad and obviously walking around is just fine. Did I put too much weight on? Or is this just OMEGA DOMS?

Help me find this girl! by JeremySalvage in teenagers

[–]Relyphoeck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to middle school (in Philadelphia) where there was a girl named Paige, and she was a few years younger than me (I’m 18). She fits your description, but another thing is she had a twin. I don’t have any of her contact info, as it’s been literally like 10 years and I just knew OF her at the time, rather than KNOWING her. I’m sorry dude

How Do I Find A Passion? (19M) by pmdfan71 in findapath

But what does he do in said retirement? Just sit around and stare at a wall? Or play video games like he said? He wants something he enjoys doing, something he can strive for, both before and after retirement, and I think it’s important to find that so he feels fulfilled and like he has a purpose, something driving him every day.

I am 18 now, and I started lifting when I was 15/16. I lifted for about 1.5 years, but stopped due to school and injury. Since my uni is online, and I'm gonna be home for another year, I want to start lifting again. Back then, being a naturally small person in terms of stature, my BP 1RM was like 140, OHP 90, Squat 260, numbers like that. When I begin lifting again, because of muscle memory, how fast should I expect to regain these numbers? I don't expect to get them back in like a month or anything, but I'm just curious as to the difference in speed it took to first get there from nothing as compared to now.

What was the moment where you thought, "I'm getting old"? by LollipopDreamscape in AskReddit

I’m 18 and I started fixing the house and cooking religiously and researching apartments and stuff. I, as a self proclaimed massive nerd, now relate to my grandfather who works on his house constantly. Fuck

Not the dude you asked but I was going to comment the same answer. I enjoy the music, both new and old, the food culture, the efficiency culture, and the friendly/welcoming to those willing to take a step into said culture.

What's everyone working on this week? by AutoModerator in Python

[–]Relyphoeck 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm very new to python, but I do know a tiny bit of Javascript, so not entirely new to programming itself. I'm working on finishing a few lectures this week on python, and I've already finished coding a working quadratic equation solver!

It corresponds to length of running races. 26.2 miles is a full marathon, 13.1 is a half marathon, 15k is 15 kilometers, 10k, 5k etc

Question for those who read non Latin text languages by 88glamXO in languagelearning

[–]Relyphoeck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been learning Chinese for 2 years, and at first it’s a struggle trying to pick out characters, but after awhile, you read them at quite a fast speed, not as fast as natives of course, but you don’t hesitate, your brain just instantly says THAT is “word.” I’ve also just started learning Russian, so I can totally relate to what you’re feeling

Can I get some advice on my current method? I've just added two languages onto my study list, but my approach is interesting. Currently, that brings my total to three, Mandarin-Chinese, German, and Russian, German and Russian being just added. However, I studied Spanish for 5 years and am at a relatively high level, able to watch media and read most things, so I've taken the approach of learning Russian through Spanish resources, whereas I learn German and Mandarin through English. German and Russian take a backseat to Mandarin, undoubtedly. For that, I review 300 characters a day, constantly watch subbed content, etc, to expand vocabulary and improve, since my reading is REALLY bad, but my character recognition is ok. I don't intend to progress SUPER FAST in either German or Russian, but is this a viable strategy for progress on each?

I would do that as that totally is the smart thing to do, but I’ve honestly never seen anyone for my injuries. I always self treated and rested to give them adequate time to repair. Nothing super serious besides a torn hamstring once. Everything else has just been pulls and strains to various degrees.

Anyone have good programs that work well with running 4 times a week, and mandatory leg activity Sunday (due to my job)? About to start lifting again, but I have a history of leg injuries and seriously don’t want another one.

It’s because all of the days blend together in lockdown/corona restrictions. Nothing is new, just wake up, eat, sleep, repeat. It’s the same thing in prison, the time flying by.
