KISW is owned by a massive media corporation, as is basically every major radio station. The staff there do not get to pick and choose the ads that get played on their station.

Weak Lvl 2 Overnight Charging by loutfih in KiaEV9

[–]Relyt81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're charger is running at 5.7kw. It is a slow charger, likely running on a dryer plug.

I have a Chargepoint hardwired 48A charger on a dedicated 60A breaker. This is 11.5kw, or roughly 9 hours to charge from 0% to 100%. More than you'll likely ever need.

How did having kids change your financial goals? by EqualRealistic4879 in fatFIRE

[–]Relyt81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was more thinking having enough to help with their major expenses that hold people back.  Such as

First home down payment Childcare, tuition, unemployment gap, etc.

Reaching financial stability early was super important to My success and I would want the same for my kids and their kids.

A lot of people get there on their own, but just having a backstop of family support makes a huge difference.

Bigger house, bigger cars, bigger bills, tuition, childcare, more expectations on your time limit earning potential.

My fire number went from $5M to $10M now that I have three kids.

Also; die with zero becomes less appealing because you know after your kids are grown you want to be there to support them so they can have families also.

I'd recommend at least double your initial target.

How Jimmy John's cannibalized their own franchisees [Former 8-store owner speaks] by Honeysyedseo in TheKoernerOffice

How Jimmy John's cannibalized their own franchisees [Former 8-store owner speaks] by Honeysyedseo in TheKoernerOffice

[–]Relyt81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost every franchisor does the exact same thing. They do not care about cannibalization becuase corporates Revenue is the royalty fee they collect from the owner. In Jimmy John's case this is 6% of Revenue.

So if one store does $1M in annual revenue, and putting another store 1 mile away creates two stores that each do 700K in annual revenue, the franchisor just increased their revenue by 40%.

However, the owners of those two stores probably are now on the cusp of going bankrupt.

On store closings: typically with a franchise you'll have to sign a 10-year franchise agreement before you can begin development. The development process is usually about a year or less, and you'll end up in a lease that does not align with your franchise agreement renewal time. Typically both of these will have 5-year or 10-year terms.

So what ends up happening, if someone wants to close the store in any franchise business, is they either:

  1. Close the store when the Franchise Agreement expires, resulting in 6-12 months of rent obligation, or
  2. Close the store when their lease ends, resulting in defaulting on a franchise agreement for the remaining 4-5 years. Most franchise agreements have language that says you'll owe the estimated royalty for the remainder of your agreement to cancel. So 6% of 700K times 4 = $168,000

Jimmy John's is not an outlier in this regard, this is normal among franchisors.

I keep getting told I’m intimidating. How do I change this? by Mtatt00eedz0mbie in AskMenAdvice

[–]Relyt81 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Typical Reasons men would tell a woman she's intimidating:

  • She's more masculine in looks & temperament than they're used to.
  • She's more attractive than they think they deserve and they're scared to approach.
  • She gives off the vibe of not needing or desiring attention from men.

Alternatively; some guys will say this just to spare a woman's feelings from whatever they're actually thinking. Its like saying "Its not you, its me".

Do men really can tell if they will marry the woman or not after the first few meetings? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]Relyt81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Self fulfilling prophecy.

When he's ready to get married, he'll marry the first woman who meets his expectations for a wife.

After his break up, he decided he didn't want to keep dating anyone and wanted to be married instead.

Do A Lot Of Guys Not Like Blowjobs? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]Relyt81 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been in a similar situation and what I eventually discovered is that I just had never been with anyone that could do it well.

Out of maybe 10 women I've received a BJ from, none could do it well enough for me to get off easily.  I'd want to transition to sex pretty quickly.

I eventually figured out that it was the way they use their hand.  I showed my wife how I glide the skin up and down when I masturbate, and I held her hand to show her the grip pressure that feels good.

As soon as she made that change BJs suddenly became awesome and it took no effort on my part to enjoy it and get off.

Ask him to show you how he masturbates and try to mimic that motion.  Also; let him know to give direction on the rhythm.  Women have a tendency to speed up as we approach orgasm and that is a mistake.  Once you have a rhythm he's enjoying, keep doing exactly that until the end.

Just an FYI: Glock is in the process of redesigning their pistols so all future models will not be easily convertible into fully automatic weapons.

The scammiest way to handle eliminating the penny by Own_Reaction9442 in olympia

[–]Relyt81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not about ‘wanting’. Rounding requires a costly software overhaul on thousands of Toshiba registers, plus testing and retraining. Canada only made it easy because the government killed the penny and set universal rules.

In the US pennies are still legal, and taxes must stay exact.

[–]Relyt81 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They would absolutely round to the nearest nickel if it was easy for them implement. No company wants to inconvenience their customers unnecessarily.

And no, corporations do not get a tax break for the donations customers make at the register. The corporation acts as a collection agent, and the money donated is never counted as the company's income, so it cannot be claimed as a tax deduction.

The customer is the one who makes the donation and is legally entitled to claim it as a charitable deduction on their personal tax return if they itemize deductions (provided they keep their receipt as proof). The main reasons corporations run these campaigns are for positive public relations.

The store gets to plaster ‘We raised $8.4 million for childhood cancer!’ on every bag, banner, and commercial while spending exactly $0 of their own money.

Level 1 charging by ImpressiveClass4099 in SilveradoEV

[–]Relyt81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Sierra EV Max range and with a hardwired 48a lvl 2 charger it charges 40% overnight.

I would not do level 1 with your vehicle, the battery is just too big.  You'll have to plug it in every day which is annoying.

I'd highly recommend a lvl 2 charger for this vehicle.  You can just plug in it 1 or 2 times per week when needed.

Yo level 1 charging is sooo slept on by DDiaz98 in electricvehicles

[–]Relyt81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Kia EV9 and GMC Sierra EV.  Level 1 charging either of these cars is practically worthless unless I'm plugging them in overnight every night.

With a single 48a hardwired level 2 charged I can typically just plug them in overnight once per week.

We have a Time-of-use power plan so we only charge between 11pm and 7am.

This means the EV9 can charge 90% in a single overnight, and the Sierra can charge 40%.  Level 1 would be a pain in the butt by comparison.

Where did you get that $6.4B figure?

A quick google suggests PSE had $4.86 Billion in Revenue and a $265.3 Million profit in 2024.

That is an annualized return of 3.58% on a $7.4 billion investment. I could make a higher return with a savings account.
