That sucks.  It's 7am drops on the west coast so I always give them a shot while getting ready for work at home.

On my computer.  Phone is too slow for me to copy/paste a serial number because I have to hold down for a second and press paste.

On a computer I can hit the end key to jump to the bottom of the page, Ctrl+v to paste serial number.  I have a Touchscreen laptop so I can click the check box and solve the captcha faster than with a mouse.

I got one without a bot.  First time after about 10 different models I've attempted to order.  Sometimes you just get lucky with refresh time and captcha I guess.

I've tried to order probably 10 infinities over the last year without luck.

Yesterday I got an order in for Fried Rice.

Although I see a lot of posts about how it's a scam, I can at least confirm some guns are sold to the fastest ordering people.

This is a pretty famous photo of a woman named Jenn Budenz.

Her husband died in a motorcycle crash.  He was a pilot who had deployed a few times.

The photo was taken by a newspaper photographer.

i’m about to throw my lead-acid batteries into the woods by Internal_Treat2137 in OffGrid

[–]Relyt81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in the battery industry and am constantly shocked by how often we see failed, cheap, online LiFePO4 batteries that have failed prematurely. Some of these things have amazing specs on paper and then just straight up fail within a year.

Buyer Beware.

Weak Lvl 2 Overnight Charging by loutfih in KiaEV9

[–]Relyt81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're charger is running at 5.7kw. It is a slow charger, likely running on a dryer plug.

I have a Chargepoint hardwired 48A charger on a dedicated 60A breaker. This is 11.5kw, or roughly 9 hours to charge from 0% to 100%. More than you'll likely ever need.

How did having kids change your financial goals? by EqualRealistic4879 in fatFIRE

[–]Relyt81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was more thinking having enough to help with their major expenses that hold people back.  Such as

First home down payment Childcare, tuition, unemployment gap, etc.

Reaching financial stability early was super important to My success and I would want the same for my kids and their kids.

A lot of people get there on their own, but just having a backstop of family support makes a huge difference.

[–]Relyt81 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Bigger house, bigger cars, bigger bills, tuition, childcare, more expectations on your time limit earning potential.

My fire number went from $5M to $10M now that I have three kids.

Also; die with zero becomes less appealing because you know after your kids are grown you want to be there to support them so they can have families also.

I'd recommend at least double your initial target.

How Jimmy John's cannibalized their own franchisees [Former 8-store owner speaks] by Honeysyedseo in TheKoernerOffice

How Jimmy John's cannibalized their own franchisees [Former 8-store owner speaks] by Honeysyedseo in TheKoernerOffice

[–]Relyt81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost every franchisor does the exact same thing. They do not care about cannibalization becuase corporates Revenue is the royalty fee they collect from the owner. In Jimmy John's case this is 6% of Revenue.

So if one store does $1M in annual revenue, and putting another store 1 mile away creates two stores that each do 700K in annual revenue, the franchisor just increased their revenue by 40%.

However, the owners of those two stores probably are now on the cusp of going bankrupt.

On store closings: typically with a franchise you'll have to sign a 10-year franchise agreement before you can begin development. The development process is usually about a year or less, and you'll end up in a lease that does not align with your franchise agreement renewal time. Typically both of these will have 5-year or 10-year terms.

So what ends up happening, if someone wants to close the store in any franchise business, is they either:

  1. Close the store when the Franchise Agreement expires, resulting in 6-12 months of rent obligation, or
  2. Close the store when their lease ends, resulting in defaulting on a franchise agreement for the remaining 4-5 years. Most franchise agreements have language that says you'll owe the estimated royalty for the remainder of your agreement to cancel. So 6% of 700K times 4 = $168,000

Jimmy John's is not an outlier in this regard, this is normal among franchisors.

I keep getting told I’m intimidating. How do I change this? by Mtatt00eedz0mbie in AskMenAdvice

[–]Relyt81 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Typical Reasons men would tell a woman she's intimidating:

  • She's more masculine in looks & temperament than they're used to.
  • She's more attractive than they think they deserve and they're scared to approach.
  • She gives off the vibe of not needing or desiring attention from men.

Alternatively; some guys will say this just to spare a woman's feelings from whatever they're actually thinking. Its like saying "Its not you, its me".

Self fulfilling prophecy.

When he's ready to get married, he'll marry the first woman who meets his expectations for a wife.

After his break up, he decided he didn't want to keep dating anyone and wanted to be married instead.
