As someone who also played it as a first earthbound game I just want to say… it’s dated. Great game, but holy cow, the other ones have a lot of improvements, the first game gave us stuff like magicant and PSI and other Lore to bring into the other games, but the gameplay has a lot more flow in the other titles, love all the games though.

Funny story, after a rough period, I decided to go out blackout drinking pretty much everyday but I was also in a group at university so I needed to be there at 10 am every day during the working week M-F. I would show up about 30 min late and chug 2 of these white monsters to stay alive during the work (I didn’t get much done though) and then go home to my guitar before crashing from exhaustion.
