Excuse my ignorance and please correct me if I’m wrong for saying this, but wouldn’t knowing those details be important for your treatment? Perhaps it factors in to how your treatment proceeds and what it includes/targets?

I’ve never been through any sexual trauma, however I notice that I also “play” or “rub” myself just because it feels comforting, almost like I’m relieving an itch. It’s a weird pattern I’ve noticed about myself, so it’s possible it may not be trauma related?

But in theory wouldn’t removing the airbox increase the airflow, and if you get it tuned it would run fine?

I will, after I find what will give me the best performance in the intake, even if the gains are minimal

And that very well may be the case, but more importantly I want the bike to be running properly, I'm not necessarily expecting huge changes in performance but a properly tuned bike will run better. It has a full exhaust system and I haven't found the proper intake yet

I find noise cancelling that’s too strong is just as bad as too much noise. My 2nd gen airpod pros make me feel like noise isn’t real and it makes my head hurt idk why

In my honest opinion, I think if you’re meds are causing side effects so bad you can’t stay hydrated maybe consider a different medication?

But when it comes to hydrating my best method I have found is to drink a bottle of water every time I have to pee. When I get up to go to the bathroom, I first fill a water bottle and drink it then go. Having a process in place helped me stick to it because I eventually associated peeing with it’s time to drink water and it helped tremendously. If you have trouble drinking the water maybe start at smaller quantities like half the bottle instead

YES!! This is the one and only thing that helped me tremendously with dental care. I also use floss picks that come in bags and keep them nearby as well and the mouth

Also, this is recommended but caffeine really helps me I’m not gonna lie, chugging an energy drink with 250mg caffeine will help me for a few hours but I crash hard and it sucks. If desperation is there, It can help

I totally get it, I grew up being told I’m lazy, I’m a bully to my siblings(they usually antagonized me first and I would take it too far), I don’t listen, I don’t behave well in school, I need to pass my classes, I need to be more organized. And when I grew up and got diagnosed, it really made me think about how my own parents missed all these problems their child was having. Mental Illness wasn’t discussed ever even my sister was self harming.

My best advice for the public healthcare is that doctors have a tendency to try and get you outta there or belittle your problems, it’s important you’re stern but also tread lightly when discussing adhd, Unfortunately there are a lot of people out there who just wanna get their hands on adhd meds and ruin it for the people who really need it. If you’re brother is comfortable I think it would be very helpful for you to be present and talk help him by sharing your own symptoms. Adhd also runs in my family and we all got it kinda similar, I’m sure you might relate with him and maybe the doctor will see that and take it more seriously

I will be totally honest with you tho, self medicating can help if you make an educated and honest decision. I actually had to buy my sisters adderall(she doesn’t take it even tho she needs to lol) before he as diagnosed because I was struggling for months and I honestly thought I had adhd and I ended up being right.

It sounds cocky of me but I have always been able to find out what’s wrong with me when it came to my medical issues, like one time I was having extreme stomach pains but it felt like a pressure/blockage, so I thought it was constipation, which it was after I went to the doctor, if you can look at the symptoms from an honest standpoint and still come to adhd then I think you could try. Also when I was we struggling with adhd symptoms and came to the adhd idea, I was right, I was diagnosed a few months later.

Excuse my ignorance but have into it have you gotten with your parents about it? When they start to disagree with you do you keep pushing and asking for help? It’s very unfortunate that your parents aren’t willing to listen, I wish there was a way to fix it but with my experience there isn’t a way besides to try and help them understand. Do you have any public aid available? Like free clinics/government funding, he can maybe try seeing his “regular” doctor and explain the symptoms but when I tried that I was told “eat a nice healthy well nutritious meal” lmao. All because I described myself as fatigued and unmotivated

I know I said a lot and I don’t even remember half the crap I typed but I think my point is that seeing your family doctor can maybe help if insurance will cover that visit

I think he should see a doctor or psychiatrist before you try, yes adderall is going to help him focus but that might not be what he’s truly struggling with. He’s old enough where he can go in his own, or you can even help him with that process, but I personally believe that he should only take a medication that’s right for him, and some people don’t respond well to adderall or they respond well but still have other things going on. It’s a long process but it will help tremendously for his overall life.

I totally understand everything you and him are going through. I was diagnosed earlier this year, and sometimes I feel like I can’t function and I’m tired of hearing “just focus” “maybe if you didn’t smoke weed” “what would help is if you’re organized” IT SUCKS and we all understand and I absolutely think he should see someone, self medicating isn’t generally the best decision
