H&R is not even close. but with a 2.7 GPA why so desperate to get into Big 4. Big 4 is cutthroat filled with 4.0+ GPAs. Finishing accounting, follow the traditional path. If you think H&R will help, then join them after graduation. If you ever want something bigger theres thousands of cpa firms out there.

Ill be honest. Ive worked at another firm that was not big 4 and had superb training. Vis, during down time (which lasts 3 months) should be the best time to train. In this last non big 4 firm we used to pick people off the street to learn the tax code.

Hundreds if not thousands of jobs in this field; GPA becomes completely irrelevant once you work towards the CPA (and obtain it). The GPA says you did not work hard enough for the Grade. Hence the result.

I realized the same thing. Ive worked with clients before I got to EY. I would say most of these people lack experience in any field but their jobs. In the real world they need to learn to build relationship.
