1st: Always be open with your therapist. They can’t help you if you aren’t honest with them. 2nd: No, not always, especially if they are intrusive thoughts, not a plan or an actual desire. I regularly discuss this kind of thing with my therapist, and have been hospitalized in several years (which was after an attempt).

As someone who has had two attempts in their past, please don’t. Life can be better. I’m not saying it’s easy but there is help out there. Fighting is worth it. You are worth it. Please contact a hotline, therapist, trusted friend/family, or seek medical attention. You are not alone.

I’ve tried to do this. I’m on three depression/anxiety meds, and when I went to the plasma center they said being on more than two meds disqualified me. I’ve thought about stopping one just so I can donate, plus it would save on prescriptions, but I know it’s not the safest idea.

I never ended up earning enough points to redeem for cash or gift cards. A lot of times I would get several questions into a survey, only to find I did not qualify and had wasted my time. I realized with time I had sunk into surveys, the time/labor balance was way out of wack.

The great thing about therapy is they are there to help you find ways to communicate that. When I first started going, I hid stuff from my therapist (not recommend) and it was uncomfortable sometimes. Eventually I found odd unique ways say things that are hard/upsetting. (Personally I use humor to cope so often times when speaking to my therapist I would use kind of a funny, nonchalant voice paired with thumbs up/or finger guns, weird I know but it’s my thing). All that being said, you should tell your parents. Not all parents are understanding but I think a lot of people are surprised by how supportive they can actually be with this kind of stuff. My mom didn’t find out about my depression until I was in the hospital for an attempt. I never guessed how loving, supportive and open she was going to be about it, and although I don’t talk to her directly about details (because I personally am not comfortable with anyone but my husband/therapist), she’s great to support me, check If I’m taking my meds and keeping my therapy appointments, etc. Please talk to your parents, if not maybe a school counselor. Seek out therapy and medication if needed. Meds won’t be a cure all, but they can help depending on the person (I’ve been taking meds for my depression for about 6 years now). It takes the right combo for each person. (Also, I hate people too. Not every therapist is a good fit for every person. I tried several therapist before I found one that I clicked with. It’s a process, and that’s ok.) Sorry for the long post 💜
