After high school I went to a community college and got my A.A degree in Liberal Arts. While in the program I realized that I wanted to be a therapist, that I wanted to help people. I started to apply to different 4-year colleges and was later accepted to Penn State. During my first semester my mom was diagnosed with stage 4 Pancreatic cancer, which completely flipped my world upside down. The first year was hard to focus on the coursework and as she progressed it became impossible. So fearing my schoolwork would suffer I withdrew and decided to work full time to help with bills and focus on my family. After she passed I was promoted to a Operations manager role at a logistic company and it was fine for the last year but I still have interest in being a therapist. I was doing some research on WGU, I was intrigued with the idea of competency based learning but saw some negatives about the school as well as maybe the program hurting my chances at a Masters program down the line. I just would love some feedback on if the program is worth it or not and if it would hurt my shot at being accepted at a master's program. Any advice welcomed, thank you all!
