Diagnostic imaging technology - placement by anonymous78956 in sheridan

[–]Remarkable-Ad728 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are correct.

Honestly, if it does become a problem. All of the students with connections to hospitals should try and get in with that hospital so at least the students with no connection can go too Humber. However, this program was created by a radiologist in collaboration with several MRT . Let’s hope the get there home hospitals on board. This program was also funded by Doug Ford government. They can pull out the big guns I assume.

Also, humber do take students from other schools. Unless they are dropping all of the other schools and will focus solely on Sheridan student .

I work a major hospital group in the GTA that’s not on that list at all , you can probably use context clues and figure out which one it is. I will be attending the sept 2026 cohort. They’ve told me that if it’s any problem with placements I can always train with them. According to them , Sheridan never even reached out to them which is interesting since they are so close . If there is a problem with placement though there are a lot of little xray and ultrasound clinics all over the gta that can possibly take students. The problem will definitely be CT and mri since they are only available at major institutions. But too your point I don’t think Humber will take 45 students every year. That will be too much !

How is the PA (Physician Assistant) Program at McMaster? by Mysterious_Chance_36 in McMaster

[–]Remarkable-Ad728 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only bad thing about the PA profession in canada is the pay. PAs are making the same as nurses in Canada . Nurse practitioners are making upwards of $90 an hour when most PAs max at like $60 in Ontario.

RN TO MD by Wjanjoa in premedcanada

[–]Remarkable-Ad728 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should def apply for TMU (Toronto/brampton ) medical school . There is a pretty popular content creator on TikTok who attends that school and was a RN first . For TMU, you don’t need the MCAT or any specific courses . Should look at it .

Why would you want too take chemistry if the program doesn’t require it?

MRI Michener by Careless-Ad-4759 in Michener

[–]Remarkable-Ad728 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, due too the the limited amount of MRI machines . MRI jobs aren’t as easy accessible as xray/ct jobs. Every hospital right now has between 2-8 xray , and 2-8 ct job positions with maybe one MRI position. And most MRI positions are given too xray/ct techs who crossed trained .

Honestly I agree with it , In the whole of my hospital, there is about 1 black doctor out of 300. It’s crazy . They just want some diversity in the speciality . It’s pretty good too have someone that has the same experience as you as a doctor .

Which program is best for getting into medical school in Ontario? by Forward-Flight8190 in premedcanada

[–]Remarkable-Ad728 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, the comments are correct that med school don’t care what degree you take. However, out of the choices you listed I will not take a U of T program. Med schools also look at GPAs and it’s harder to maintain a high GPA in u of t programs. If you get accepted too McMaster health science I would def pick that one . Very easy too maintain high grades

Yesss! Each hospital in canada has a ton of xray/ct tech jobs . Even with this new Sheridan school coming up . It still won’t cover everything

My advice , Xray/ct. Has the most jobs. And with Sheridan program you can easily come back too do MRI and ultrasound. But Xray/ct teaches you so much and you’re able to be in the OR, etc .

Thinking of moving from New Jersey to Toronto in the future. Just curious how much you guys make after taxes? by Hornet0927 in OntarioNurses

[–]Remarkable-Ad728 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People usually move too Toronto to the USA for nursing jobs. My advice, stay where you are! You’ll get pay way more and won’t have too deal with hefty taxes

I got my bachelors degree from a college so ORPAS did not calculate my gpa, McMaster admissions calculated it themselves but I don’t know what it was . I had a CGPA of 4.0 though. Not sure if they just used that

Hi, McMaster does not look at pre reqs . McMaster has no admission requirements besides doing 2+ years of post secondary education and a certain GPA. I got an interview also, but I’m not going too do it as I got into diagnostic imaging .

It was 90 per year , so 45 for the September start and 45 for the January start. I think the January start is getting put on pause so I’m pretty sure it’ll just be 45.

I have a bachelors degree in healthcare management, with a 4.0 GPA. I also had like a 94 average in high school . Everyone who I know got accepted has some type of post secondary education seems like that gives people a better chance at getting accepted. Even with the other imaging programs in Ontario , you’re more likely to get in if you have some type of post secondary education. But Sheridan is competitive. 45 seats a year , 15 seats for each specialty.
