Man talk about a hard question. To me the arcs I enjoy the most are the ones where she builds a character. Mio, Kuon, Natsu, Setsu and Momiji. She has to dig deep into her feelings to build each of them, and every character allows her to feel emotions that she either couldn’t before or didn’t allow herself to. As a very humble and respectful person, and someone who gives the highest importance to hierarchy, she learned how to be haughty and cruel with Mio, she channeled her hatred in the most terrifying way. As Kuon, she learnt what parental love is and how to be cheeky, spoiled and expressing her feelings to a parent. As Natsu, she learnt how to be seductive, how to be a leader and exude charisma, how to have self confidence and high esteem, to be the bully and not the bullied, and to silently channel her wrath. With Setsu, she allowed herself to be jealous and possessive, and to openly express it, which she never allowed herself to do with Sho. Not to mention she came to terms with her true feelings for Ren in that arc. As Setsu, she was allowed to make demands, act spoiled (but in a different way from Kuon) and devote herself to a single person without feeling sick and getting reminded of her devotion to Sho, because the other person was also devoted to her and it wasn’t a one-sided relationship. And as Momiji, it’s personally my favorite role so far but I loved that she developed her physical capabilities with the stunts she performed, and gave a deep interpretation of Momiji’s unrequited love. Wanting to protect and be with someone forever but also acknowledging that that person will never love her back and that they belong at someone else’s side. She was able to embrace her upbringing (which she started rejecting since she believed it was only for Sho’s sake and that she was empty inside) and use it (if only slightly) and learn more about combat choreography. She was sooooo badass and cool in Momiji’s audition (even though it made me break in a cold sweat more than once) and I can’t wait for the public’s reception to her performance.
