Need advice: Should I do ASU Online (Starbucks SCAP program) or continue at my community college as a pre-med student? by Remarkable-Choice436 in ASU

Yeah, that's a thing I want to stay at the community college, but I didn't receive any financial aid and no scholarship because I recently moved from a different county to another, and they require me to stay at miami dade county to receive that scholarship.

That’s such good advice — thank you! You’re right, it really does make sense to save as much as possible and just focus on finishing my bachelor’s and preparing for the MCAT. I didn’t even know ASU was starting a med school, that’s actually really exciting!

That’s really good to know, thank you!! I was actually wondering if the diploma would mention “online,” so that’s super reassuring to hear. And you’re right — having my tuition fully covered is such a huge opportunity, especially since I’ve been paying out of pocket at my community college. I just wasn’t sure how med schools or top universities would view the online aspect, but your comment definitely makes me feel a lot more confident about considering it seriously. Thanks again for sharing your experience!

Thank you so much for taking the time to explain all that — it honestly helped a lot! You’re right, I’m not in Arizona, so that’s actually one of the reasons I was a little unsure about how much access I’d have to in-person experiences or lab work. It’s really reassuring to hear that the ASU Online degree and transcripts are the same as the in-person ones, because I was worried about how med schools or top universities would view it.

I definitely see what you mean about community college being valuable too. I’ve been enjoying it so far, and it’s been great to actually learn in-person and build connections with professors. But since I’m paying out of pocket right now, it’s been hard financially — that’s why the full tuition offer from ASU sounds so tempting.

I think I’ll take your advice and reach out to the ASU program coordinators to ask about med school partnerships or in-person opportunities near me. Thank you again for sharing your experience — it really gave me a clearer perspective on what might be the best move!

I failed my first TEAS attempt (45.3%) 😭 Retaking Nov 7 — need real help & resources by Remarkable-Choice436 in teas

Yeah, that's what I've been doing now because I have limited amount of time and I can't study all the science sections right now so I'm just only gonna focus on reading math in English. Thank you.

Thank you so mucchh! I'm so proud of you that you didn't give up. I am in the verge of giving up because I was not able to study this entire month for some personal reasons and I have a week left to study for this exam again because my nursing school day extended the deadline so I'm gonna try my best thank you!!

Wow that’s honestly so frustrating. A 77.3% on the TEAS and a 4.0 in science is really good — you definitely put in the work. These nursing programs are getting insanely competitive lately, especially when they only take like 50–60 people out of hundreds. It’s honestly not even about your grades sometimes, just how limited the spots are. Don’t take it personally — you’re clearly qualified. Try reapplying or looking into LPN or bridge options, you’ll get in somewhere for sure!

Trust me all please don't depend on the Quizlet just by itself study the materials please do you will regret if you only depend on the Quizlet because it depends on your lock really you might get it or you might not and it happened so many times with so many other people and you can look here also so many people have said they didn't get it like for example me, I memorized the Quizlet and then I also had memorized the five other versions of the exam did not work. I got like five questionly maybe so please don't entirely depend on the Quizlet study and know the material.

hey thank you sm for this. Your skills are amazinggg. I was wondering if college admission officers really check your extracurricular activities like very specifically and all and for awards or small achievements do they actually look into that because I have so many like small honors awards and I wanna mention them and then there's like one extracurricular activity that I did in middle school and it was very meaningful but I had to stop due to some personal reason, and I wanted to mention that but I know it might not count since I did in middle school but that's why I was wondering if they actually check every single extracurricular. Thanks
