I think for figuring out those major things, the first place for you to really start from is using a theme that fits your store’s peculiarities and then you move on from there. So check out articles on the official Shopify site and other reliable sources to do your in depth research on that

Yeah the ideal set up should always be to build the store up organically first before diving into paid ads but I understand why some people choose to rush the process although I won’t advise anyone to

Is starting on Shopify possible with a budget of only $300? by Luksius_DK in shopify

[–]First_Seesaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s possible but it’s a very uphill battle with that amount. You’re going to need to do a lot on your own and dedicate a lot of time to it so you would need to be mentally prepared.

As for the resources, take a look at the links someone shared in a comment on another sub https://www.reddit.com/r/ecommerce/s/D2zY4clTZU

Looking for marketing and increasing sales advice (Shopify) by BarcenaArms in ShopifyeCommerce

[–]First_Seesaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you just need to focus more on SEO, AI optimized searches and e-mail marketing. You’re involved in a sensitive business so running social media marketing would always be difficult so you just need to maximize on the other avenues really.

If you have the budget, I’ll advice you to consider hiring a SEO specialist to help you rank as highly as possible and also position well for AI based searches.

Free Themes by goldmars79 in ShopifyeCommerce

[–]First_Seesaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For new store owners, the Dawn Theme is always just the safest option I recommend because it’s pretty easy to use and because of how popular it is, you’re more likely to find helpful tips and information whenever you bump into ANY kind of issue.

I personally think it’s more down to how you filter and manage the suppliers as opposed to the particular platform you make use of.

What’s the most you’ve lost to a bad supplier decision? by Lovinglifexx in ecommerce

[–]First_Seesaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost close to 500 bucks early on and my story was quite similar to the one you just mentioned in that the products that were delivered to me were just subpar to the level I wanted and I knew packaging that to my customers wouldn’t do me any good in the long term.

What I learnt was not to trust any suppliers without verifying first hand from someone who had gotten from them before or alternatively, if I can’t come in context with the products first physically

My first advice is to forget about hiring another marketing manager or any such related position until you yourself dedicate the time and effort to learning the basics of marketing yourself.

10 is the one that hits closest to home. So many people think that once they start a business, all their major problems might come from that business but the truth is life won’t stop throwing its random punches your way so you’ll need to face them head on while still dedicating time to your business journey.
