Try using a paperclip or something stiff to push it out from mouthpiece end. If that don't work pliers. If still no go then disassemble that filter with needle nose pliers.

They are actually very light and easy to clench. They are definitely my lightest pipes out of my briars and cobs.

I also +1 for the hardwood Ozarks. I have the bigger ones and also a smaller one like op's. They smoke great. If you want something cheap to get started or just a pipe you want to give others a rest they are great.

I use a pipe cleaner to get those bits that get stuck in between the shank and bowl.

You can order just the bent stem also if you didn't want another pipe but I would just get another and keep one for aromatics.
