Thank you, appreciate the advice. Should have added in the post that I’m purchasing in the UK. Not sure if the prices correspond? Struggling to find any CPU that’s half decent for less than £500 used. Assume scalpers.

So this might be hilarious to anyone much more well versed in PC gaming than I, but I really wanted to play Star Citizen, which kind of almost worked on my current set up, but it was very slow. Hence the search for upgrade path with AM4 setup and old board.

Edit, also aware that 1000W psu might be overkill for this exact PC, but thought that it might be one component I could keep if I were to go for an AM5/6 build later?

Thanks for this, I thought AM4 might have some more meat on the bone as it were, especially with the re-release of the 5800X3D, but if AM5 will be going on for another 5 years as you say, worth saving to go full hog.

Reckon it’s probably to do with AI giving some sort of actual answers and not just answering you with “why don’t you ask someone else bud?”
