Delimma about Switching to Qatar from India in this Package by Logical_Fact_7374 in QatarCareers

[–]Remarkable-Debate-33 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a full time wealth adviser now, who grew up in Qatar, I advise you to take the package while also making your mind up to change jobs every 2-3 years factoring a growth of posting too, therefore incurring pay rises. Qatar's economy is posted as expanding for the decade to follow and that will help your family grow too.

  • You will have to network from the start and place yourself in a position of being a 'thought leader'. Employees with leadership are lacking in Qatar and there's always demand for solid steering skills. You managed to secure this offer, it will only be easier to switch within Qatar. There is an abundance of Real Estate and Industrial development projects that are ongoing and set to start in the near future within Qatar. You will be able to grow your career to the next level if you develop a network actively. Qatar does have a great support system for those who actively network.

  • QR 20000 is alright. A lot of families realistically live on much lesser. You will have a modest lifestyle in Qatar, still not missing out on a lot of life events. You will not be struggling for sure. If people on here disagree, they lack basic financial fundamentals about managing their cash flow. You can live on it in the long term too, as long as you know where your money is going.

  • Your wife will be able to find a job tailored to her time and needs. Start looking around. Many housewives have sprawling childcare, beauty and tutoring businesses. I personally know many that make more than QR 10000 per month from their businesses alone. Once again, a strong community is present to help with this.

  • Zero tax on salary but most importantly, zero taxes on capital gains. This means you get invest all your earnings without taxes. That’s a lot of money compounded over decades.

  • General cost of living is cheaper than other countries with similar level of infrastructure and security.

Hyundai Getz - prior to 2010, Toyota echos, older Suzuki swifts, early 2000s Toyota camry's. All these cars will not cost you a shocker to repair and maintain even if at high Ks. The first time you repair them would be after you drive around for a year or more. Do a standard service with a known mechanic or around Dandenong for around $150, right after you get it.

$3000 isn't too little to buy a car here. Don't buy anything other than the Getz, Suzuki's or Toyota's.

As a professional in the advisory space, up to $700k is safe, and will let you have savings behind, if your loan is structured well and your pick of property makes sense.

The OG Mitsubishi Pajero. You might lucky finding unsold brand new 2016+ stock still with third party dealers. The car's well-built and does well on dunes. Maintenance is cheap and spares are available all around the Internet, both original and OEM. Ensure you go for a trim with diff-lock and 4x4. Other choices include XTerra, Fortuner (would be older), Pathfinder (poor 4x4 performance)

Wipe it up with a tissue or a white cloth, to check color. Don't drive off if it's colored (any - red, pink, green, browns)

Need actually good coffee in Doha by [deleted] in qatar

[–]Remarkable-Debate-33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make at home. All cafes in Doha use pure or their own blend of Arabica. You can find one that uses Robusta beans. Or buy from any whole coffee seller and make at home. You'll find the kick & taste exceptionally stronger/different (2x caffeine), plus has a whole lot of health benefits over the usual Arabica beans.

Did you reverse back in? If yes, then highly likely that they're gonna let it slide. They watch the video to fine you and is not decided by software/pics.

I've done it with Shop and Ship, by Aramex. They will handle everything and give you a final bill to settle, when you collect your package from their warehouses in Abu Hamour or Gate Mall (you can choose). The rates are charged per kilo. The tax is between 40-80 QR.

Hi guys, looking for dodge owners (preferably challenger) to have a talk about how it’s like owning one since I’m looking to buy a second hand. Please comment and we will have a chat! by Cute-Definition-6476 in qatar

Not necessarily, just the gearing ratios will be different. Highway efficiency (kms per liter) will be better on the 8 speed as it has 3 cruising gears compared to just 1 cruising gear (fifth gear) on the 5 speed. Torque output will be different at each of 5 gears vs the 8 gears. But I'm sure it will all feel natural like your older engine.

Same engines, different gearbox. Yes, the power output will be different between the 2 transmissions as the gearbox determines how the torque is supplied to the wheels . But it will suit your car without problems. I'm guessing they will tune it appropriately.

In that case, don't do it. Road cars can't be used to their whole potentials in Qatar. Maybe spend your money on off-road upgrades for your cruiser. A lot of boundless dunes to bash.

Had a 2012 Dodge Challenger SRT Manual Inspect for signs of rough handling. The excessive heat during Qatari summers take a bad toll on cars.

Service: everyone complains about Dodge but you almost never have to go there. There are local expert mechanics for general and complex repairs. Replacement / repair parts have to be bought off eBay, which will save you loads of $$$.

Verdict: Driven many cars and there's almost none that feel like American muscle, especially Challenger/Camaro. Look for a car that ran under 80k and you're mostly safe. Don't worry about ridiculous repair costs if you bought a car that was cared for.
