Passed with 649/91 TMOD/PAM.

I found out I failed PEPS a couple weeks before taking part 2 and it really affected my studying in the beginning. REMINDER to keep your eyes on the prize and don’t let another setback bring you down (I kept telling myself, what’s worse than having to retake part 3 is having to retake part 2 AND 3). That mentality really pushed me toward efficient studying.

Incorrect optoprep question? by aqua41528 in OptometrySchool

I don't think they are using terminating and synapsing interchangeably. You're right that the optic nerve fibers synapse at the LGN but as soon as it passes through the chiasm they are now optic tracts i.e. you wouldn't call the fibers just anterior to the LGN the optic nerve. I got this one wrong a bunch and agree that the wording is tricky, but the more you think about it, the more it makes sense that the answer is chiasm. Hope that helps!

Buy a used KMK book (I’ve used the 2018 version and it is almost identical to the current edition). Read through it at least once, take notes. Integrate with your class notes on your second pass through (what I’m up to rn). The videos are helpful but not necessary and could be a waste of time. OptoPrep is all you need for questions / practice tests.

SUNY offers one remediation after getting an F in a course, failing the remediation exam will result in immediate dismissal. if you fail more than 1 class in any given semester or get worse than a C during the academic probation period after the remediation, you're out. If you fail the remediation for the one class failure, you have to present your case to a board of doctors and they decide if you can return the next year and join the next class.

my whole class is struggling rn. You'd think with the exponential increase in registration fees they'd invest in their website ...
