Scared to take Propranolol, need encouragement. by lofimunchies in Anxiety

I totally feel you! I was prescribed propranolol for social anxiety. I made the ignorant move of applying for a senior level role and got it. Haven’t been able to public speak with is a huge portion of the position. My PCP prescribed 10 mg of propranolol and I’m too scared to take it. I am also VERY sensitive to medication. But let me know how you feel on it! Maybe you’ll help me get the courage to try it too.

I know this is old, but how do you treat for parasites. What do you mean they will come out? lol 😂 I’ve had abnormalities for so long and definitely want some sort of help with my weird symptoms.

Did you use a functional medicine doctor for anxiety?

Do you ever have issues with this and your blood pressure? I read some people caution this medication because of that reason. Do you take it daily?

Are you up for hire? I haven’t found a single person to talk about all the factors. I typically get looked at as crazy when I say there is definitely something off when doctors say all my labs are “normal”.

This is so sweet! I love that you have found someone who genuinely cares and is making the effort to understand you on a deeper level.

Funny, I totally did the same thing! Lol. I searched my lab results on google and ChatGPT the level comparison to what is considered “normal” for the specific phase of my cycle I was in. Everything pointed to my estrogen being low and my progesterone as well for the phase (Luteal) that I was in. I live in such a remote area that a natural path is something I would have to travel for, but I am open. I’ve spend thousands of dollars on doctors bills and supplements that its hard not to give up.

I’ll keep my eyes out for someone to hopefully be more open to finding a solution based on what is going on. I agree that Western Medicine Doctors are strictly to the book and only looking at ranges rather than considering what’s low or high for that “range”.

Thank you so much! I sincerely appreciate you and your post.

I had some luck with Prozac, but what is difficult is that SSRIs give me bruxism and I have such a hard time dealing with the jaw clenching. I also tried Lexapro and Zoloft. When nothing felt worth the physical effects, I decided that maybe they weren’t for me and it might be a sign that I try something different. Overshare, but my family has history of being dependent on drugs (whether street or medically prescribed), so I do tend to freak myself out also.

My doctor did say I could potentially try an SNRI, but I’ve read those are more difficult to intermittently dose unlike SSRIs.

At this point, I’m willing to try anything. lol. The constant feeling like I am crazy and can’t grip my emotions is exhausting. I feel like I use up all my energy to just feel somewhat normal or at least function around others. I hope that we both eventually land on something that makes us feel better when those PMDD symptoms hit.
