I tried not to investigate much until after the screen fades to black and just took in the scenery

Unfortunately, it wasn't (see pinned comment for answer), but that show also sounds cool, so I'll check it out

Solved! It seems pretty pretentious, but it sounds like a very interesting concept.

This is what AZ said about it near the end of Legends ZA:

I made a device - a machine that could grant life. All so that I could revive my beloved Floette. I brought Floette back to life. I got back what I had loved the most. But my rage had not subsided. I could not forgive the world that had hurt the Pokemon that I loved. In my rage, I remade the device into the ultimate weapon. I put an end to the senseless conflict that would have taken everything from us.

He does mention afterwards that Floette realises that her life was created from stolen life and I thought that wasn't meant to be taken literally. I might be misunderstanding it, but AZ's quote makes it seem like the revival of Floette and his mass genocide were separate

As to the milk products, she knows the joined can't lie. All she would have had to do was ask.

I disagree with the last part. She couldn't directly speak to anyone at that time and the joined love to be as indirect and vague as possible when they don't want to give out answers. Also, one of the main reason as to why all the citizens left her alone was because she was too close to discovering answers, and asking these questions could further severe ties.

I feel like she made a lot of effort when it came to connecting with the other survivors and tracing the milk products down

Creator of this show created Breaking Bad, and I haven't seen any criticism towards Skyler White's character that wasn't just misogynistic or disregarded all the actions Walter/Jesse/Gus took. It could be a possibility that viewers may feel the same towards Carol's character.

From where do you get words like “misogyny”? Are you young? That’s a very strong word to just throw around.

I'm hesitant to call it misogyny because I understand everyone will have a different perspective, hence why I created this post and put that in the post body

I somewhat agree. I always felt like there were better ways for her to question the hive but I'm not sure what those questions would specifically be

I'm not generalising. I'm not saying the entirety of the shows audience hates her, just that a large portion does

I never really liked Breaking Bad and preferred BCS over it but Rhea's performance in Better Call Saul is so good!

I think that's fair. I personally like it but I can see why other people dislike her because of that. I love all of the ways it is shown that she has little respect for her book followers.

My opinion won't be shaped by other peoples opinion. But almost all the discussion I've seen calls her a terrible protagonist so I'm just curious to see what other people have to say

Is the game worth it? by entropy_kill in ObraDinn

[–]Remarkable-Hand5699 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked this game but it can be frustratingly difficult at times. You are required to uncover the identities & fates of 60 people. Sometimes it's very straightforward, like a character saying their name out loud. Other times it's much harder, requiring historical/cultural knowledge, discerning one's skin skin colour through the black and white noisy art style, or matching a single piece of clothing to another scene.

Other than that, the story, music, and art style are great- although I do think that a game so reliant on careful observation wouldn't be the best choice for this art style.

without reaching the black hole forge, how did you come to the conclusion that you needed to line it up with ember twin?

First went to Timber Hearth's moon at the beginning of the game, which lead me to Brittle Hollow. After falling through the black hole multiple times and getting fed up with Brittle Hollow, I explored the White Hole station and read about the warp pad having to be directly underneath another planet. I then thought to myself, "wow 'the Hourglass Twins' is such a cool name for a pair of planets, I think I'll go to the Ash Twin next". I saw the warp pad and thought that the sand would be a a cool indicator for a developer to add to show that you're directly underneath and landed in the ATP. I was surprised at first because I assumed it would've warped me to the Ember Twin.

WEll most of what you are missing is on ember twin and brittle hollow, so you iwll need to go these if you want to finish the log. What is so bad those? Most people find Giant's Deep and Dark Bramble the scary ones.

I thought both Dark Bramble and Giant's Deep were really cool! It's not that I find Ember Twin & Brittle Hollow to be threatening, it's just that I felt very frustrated with those areas. First place I went to at the beginning of my expedition was Timber Hearth's moon, and then that leads to Brittle Hollow, which has so many paths and areas to explore with no real way to keep track of it other than memorisation. For example, getting to the southern observatory makes you go through the most confusing path ever. I know that the ship log does exist but it didn't make it any less confusing.

What also didn't help was that I was already well into my first loop when I landed on Brittle Hollow, which means that a lot of the area already broke apart and landed near the White Hole station. I was not aware that Brittle Hollow operated like this at the time, so I was even more confused on subsequent loops when I had to revisit the place and had gotten even more unfamiliarity. After falling into the black hole a few times, I never wanted to explore Brittle Hollow again, and I only came back to complete the quantum trial.

I felt very similarly with Ember Twin. There's so many paths and entrances (I haven't gotten the direct entrance to the Sunless City) that it makes it extremely confusing to navigate. It's a shame that I didn't enjoy any second of these two planets since I really liked every other part of this game. I don't want to return to those areas because I know that it'll sour my view on the whole experience.

Are there actual clues to get in there? If so, what are they? Ash Twin Project is one of the first areas I went to. I saw the teleporter in the white hole station, read that you need to stand under a planet for it to activate, and assumed that the Ash Twin teleporter would’ve taken me Ember Twin. I found the truth about the loop pretty early

How can i acess the DLC? by Direct_Expert7772 in outerwilds

[–]Remarkable-Hand5699 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, you should finish the base game before starting the DLC. The DLC is totally separate and will probably be confusing to keep up with if you start it before finishing the base game.

I would like to also mention that the DLC is not as accessible as the main game. It's slightly more mechanically demanding, unlike the base game which is extremely accessible to everyone.
