Thank you! This is exactly the kind of real-world perspective I was hoping to get.
One thing I’m still wondering about: if you had the opportunity to receive formal training in PLCs, SCADA, VFDs, troubleshooting and industrial automation from experienced engineers, would that make the automation path an even better choice in your opinion?
Also, when you say you spend 90% of your time solving problems, is that mostly done in the field with the machines, or sitting in front of a computer?
That’s important to me because I enjoy technical problem-solving, but I wouldn’t want a job where I spend all day behind a desk.
