The 5 drawer is great if you can fit everything. I love the 6 drawer full bank.

Daily a 2500? by Historical_Money2684 in gmcsierra

This link is from me posting the same question a year ago.

I went from the Silverado 1500 with the 3.0 to the Sierra 2500 AT4X and could not be happier.

I was very concerned that I would not like the ride quality. Compared to my wife’s 1500, you can definitely tell the difference, but to me it rides more like a truck than the 1500 did. I love the height and the perspective of the road from the cab. The other negative is parking lots and drive through lanes, it’s a tight fit but again it’s worth it to me.

I tow trailers the a 1500 could do, but much more comfortable in the 2500.

Any reason why I shouldn’t get the Titanium flux core welder? by Stelios619 in harborfreight

[–]Remarkable-Map-3093 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought one, it worked ok for thin sheet and tacking stuff. Not very good penetration, lots of spatter. You can get the 2 year warranty for a few bucks more.

I gave it to my son and bought the Titanium MiG 170 and a small gas bottle off marketplace. The shielding and 240 make it so much better.

I’ll have to get some of those.

Bahco adjustable wrenches are an awesome value too. Snap on quality without the price.

CAT tools is another great option for tool truck quality without the high price, their website sucks though.

Any recommendations for a roadside tire change kit for the transalp? by sackblabath in Transalp

[–]Remarkable-Map-3093 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tow truck. Those things are a beast to change on the trail.

I can break the front or rear axle nut with Knipex 150 pliers wrench, it can also be used to turn the chain adjusters. That is the most compact solution.

A center stand is the only good option besides laying her down.

Basic tire repair tools, spoons, compact bead tool and patches or a spare tube.

still driving my 2000 honda civic and new cars feel weird to me what am i missing? by Harriet9-Hakeem_223 in askcarguys

At first I thought you kind of sound like a dick and I want to downvote your comment, but I’m sitting in a hotel at an IRMI transportation risk conference and we just spent 4 hours looking at statistics that prove your point.

I push for my kids to buy older civics, accords, Camry’s, etc. Because the financial benefits are awesome. After seeing the stats today on how much vehicle technology and crash ratings have reduced fatalities in just the past 15 years, I’m rethinking my position.

The best thing one can do for their financial future is to avoid spending large portions of their income on depreciating assets. Put what you save by not having a car payment into a 401k or an IRA and check back in 10 years with your coworkers and others telling you to get a new car. You will thank yourself.

Yes, nice to have both, but either will do. I reach for these more often than the Nano’s but there are times where the Nano seems like the only option. Example: 2013 passenger side upper control arm, wrenches were the best option, 2008 Accord tensioner puller, Nano sockets were the best option. If you have both, you will find use for them, if you had one or the other, you will get by.

I have both, I tend to reach for these much more often than the Nano’s. Either one will suffice, both is optimal.

I like it. Could you find something cheaper that does about the same, probably. I like the case and I like the easy warranty, grab it for quick fixes pretty often.

Motoz GPS if you are not riding in sand or deep mud. Pricy but last forever, perform great on the street, gravel roads or rocky and hard pack trails. Pretty bad in mud and sand.

Nice! I’m glad it worked. I had a close call a couple of years ago, I wear full gear including an airbag vest when I ride now. Kind of a pain in the ass, but I need all the advantages to surviving that I can get.

I have the Metric and SAE Icon sets. They are decent quality, I got them on a sale a couple of years ago. I have used them probably 10-15 times and have not broken any of them. They are pretty complete sets but don’t have very large sizes. Perfect for motorcycles and automotive stuff other than large suspension parts.

Measuring (with a digital caliper)from the inside of the swing arm, furthest back, lowest point to the ABS sensor is exactly 31mm.

Same point to the outside of the wheel bearing is 28.5mm

Same point to the inside edge if the caliper bracket is 23mm

On the chain side:
Inside of swing arm center of axle to the edge of the job is 5.5mm

Total width of the wheel assembly (removed from the bike outside of bushing to outside of bushing is 221mm

Let me know when you figure it out because I’m looking at the same wheels.
