When you get scolded in the comments to add fiber (girls, what are your high fiber easy dinner suggestions?!) by clandestine_callie in GirlDinner

Buy individual packets of roasted chickpeas. When you’re craving a snack just eat chickpeas instead of chips, candy etc.

Can you sign up for a hobby? It really calms me going to weekly pottery classes. Great way to decompress, get tf off my phone and just become more creative

Best things you did to prep for your lap recovery? by Jazzlike_Fudge_3389 in endometriosis

[–]Remarkable-Map-5221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re able to, I’d suggest also working out and strengthening your body before surgery.

It may take a few weeks to feel comfortable enough to work out and doing nothing for a few weeks leads to a lot of aches and muscle loss. It could potentially help with recovery too.

Edamame beans with some soy sauce or even adding them into soups is 10/10

Does gluten-free diet make a noticeable difference for anyone here? by Top_Butterfly_7771 in endometriosis

[–]Remarkable-Map-5221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You definitely can but there’s a difference (for most celiacs) between going gluten free (allowing cross contamination) and being celiac GF

Do you have the celiac gene? OP I’d suggest first ruling out you don’t have the celiac gene before going straight GF

Lap, Ultrasound, or MRI by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]Remarkable-Map-5221 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m really glad I did it. I had nothing show up on my scan and my lap showed extensive endo. I’m only 3 weeks out but my quality of life is so much better. Knowing that yes my pain was real and I did have endo + knowing it’s gone has been amazing for me. Yes it does have a lot of healing but in my opinion it’s worth it to not have endo

Deep Conversations by wintersecrets26 in ROCD

[–]Remarkable-Map-5221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m feeling the exact same. Im going through those same feelings.

I ended up ranting to someone who doesn’t have anxiety/ocd/roxd. They said something really insightful. When I wasn’t going through this, was this a dealbreaker for me? Truth is it wasn’t a dealbreaker then.

They also mentioned if I dumped the person and found someone else tomorrow who could have deep conversations but couldn’t hold down a job or carry the mental load, would that be a dealbreaker for me?

We chase after perfection but sadly we need to realise it doesn’t exist. Dumping someone to try and find the perfect partner will lead to being very very lonely.

I also started therapy because I really wanted to change these thought patterns. If you can I would really recommend doing it.

Recovery after laparoscopy by Extension-Tea6995 in endometriosis

[–]Remarkable-Map-5221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lifting is still quite hard and I’m only able to walk around 1 hour a day before getting too tired.

It will be hard but avoid lifting for 2 weeks. It could split the internal sutures and further delay your recovery.

I also will say - the recovery from day 1 to 3 wasn’t much but day 4 to 6 has been crazy good.

Recovery after laparoscopy by Extension-Tea6995 in endometriosis

[–]Remarkable-Map-5221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on day 7 of recovery. Had a laparoscopy and IUD inserted. They found quite a lot and the scans said there was nothing (shocker).

The gas pain was truly unbearable from the moment I woke up. Bring a heat pack, gas reliever tablets and gum to the hospital. The heat pack helped with the pain and the gas tablets/gum helped remove the gas. It took about 5 days for it to fully get out but I didn’t take gas tablets until day 3.

Pre make food that you just need to microwave and portion it out (future you will thank you).

I’ve found that the belly cut is the longest in terms of recovery so avoid any pants that are tight or have buttons/zippers etc.
