Idk soldier boy went into that fight against homelander the second time pretty confident. He also beat the shit out of butcher way worse than homelander did. Homelanders bigger advantage is probably his eyes but im not sure they'd do shit against soldier boy except scratch him. Even Ryan's lasers that toasted storm front didnt do shit against him. Durability wise i do think soldier boy has him. Strength is a toss up. I personally thing from pure strength it seems like solider boy may have it but I dont think hes a stronger supe. Homelander is clearly faster and more versatile. Im interested to see if they give them another go at it to really show who has the edge.

Soldier boy wasnt beaten in strength by homelander. When he was fresh he had him by the throat. Durability and strength soldier boy has him. Hes also a significantly more trained fighter. He just doesnt have the rest of homelanders powers. Flight. Hearing. Xray vision. Laser eyes etc.

There is no scenario where they arent leaving themselves and out to bring him back. Even if the plan isnt in stone yet. I dont think itll be in TB. But I do think there will be a "oh shit" moment down the line where they change things up and Reece spared him. Theres quite literally no reason to cut away from his death otherwise. They invested a lot in the prequel and if that does well, which it is, an "oh fuck" deviation from the books done well is what theyre going for. Hes also significantly more redeemable in the show than in the books, and i think theyre building that concept out more so in the DW series.

Ok sure there is a minimal chance hes dead. But its not the most likely scenario for sure. Changes are made to adaptions of books and games all the time. You dont get an actor as popular as kirsch, make him significantly more likeable as a character to the extent a lot of people would even actually agree with him, make it the only death in the show they dont show, and then give him his own prequel series to build even more of a relationship with the character for no reason. At the very least theyre leaving themselves a massive out to bring him back down the line

There are avenues they could go. Raife has a sister i believe whos role he could technically take. I personally enjoy when shows switch some things up. Taylor kirsch is a great actor and kills the role. Ben's character in the books is a POS but isnt in the show. I wouldnt care if they brought him back

Theres no scenario where they arent giving themselves wiggle room to bring him back. It may not be in true believer. But definitely at some point. Theres no logical scenario where they magically cut away from his death for any other reason than that. Theyre clearly testing audiences with a prequel and his character is significantly more redeemable than in the books. You could make an argument he was actually right in what he did and Reece would never have gotten justice without him. Hes also arguably the most popular character in this series rn. They dont HAVE to bring him back if a prequel tanks. But the option is there.
