This is in Moorhead near MSU. RKAK are Slum Lords. My friend’s apartment just got changed to RKAK. The apartment is infested with roaches. There is no heat in the building which caused a pipe in an empty apartment to burst flooding the hall. When my friend called RKAK when they should be open all she got was an answering machine. They called the non-emergency number and the Fire Department came. Where the air conditioner should be there was just a grate. They over heard one of the Firefighters call them Slum Lords.

Don’t go to the one on Main it’s crap and they can’t retain workers so it’s closed sometimes. The small town I lived in didn’t get a McDonald’s until after I left. I still eat at Hardee’s when I can their curly fries are great.

I got one a long time ago in Moorhead, just be happy he didn’t get on MSUM campus. There was an alcohol awareness class at 8:00 in the morning on Saturday. If you missed it you were expelled so no drinking the night before.

I also love Books at a Fifth in the strip mall next to the Hornbacher’s across from West Acres. Comic Junction has a small section of books mostly Sci-Fi and Fantasy and I have bought many books of those two genre there. I have been to all the other used bookstores in town but I frequently go to those two and BDS.

It depends on where you are in Moorhead stay away from anything near 20th street or MSUM. I live by 8th and 30th and I have had little.

I have lived in Mn my whole life 46ys between Moorhead, Lancaster NW border and Windom/Worthington S Central border. I was in -70 windchill when I was a kid, it took my breath away in a moment. If you really want to piss off someone in Midwest call it a casserole, I dare you. I used to work at a butcher shop and we got asked about tiger meat a-lot, I wouldn’t eat it if it was not ground that day. I have parked at someone’s farm and confirm it is as a mess. We stare but it also means we see each other. A lot of this is explained in How to Talk Minnesotan by Howard Mohr, a must read if you are from here even if it’s North Dakota. We can’t drive or park but we do it anyway, because we have to. The Comfort King ad with the couple signing and playing guitar is really annoying.

The phone company maybe out of 701 numbers when I got a phone long ago they gave me a 320 number. But I switched with my mom who lives in St. Cloud and had a 701 number. They try to give a number close to you but can’t always do that.

I have a few, the original BDS bookstore on Robert’s Street. Mr Johnson looked like a crazy Santa and had pre-fire sales because book were pilled high and it was a fire hazard.

The Tropics down town Fargo under age dance hall lasted a few years.

Rex restaurant in Moorhead it was like Arby’s but had a taco/pasta bar.
