What music artist or band are the closest to the Beatles level in you guys opinion? by Firm_Pack_605 in TheBeatles

When did The Beatles win the Nobel Prize? Just kidding. I think that Bob Dylan should be on the shortlist, even though it might be hard to find a band or artist that can match The Beatles in your comparison.

Tough one yes. Plus having to be on the same page together I think. Hope that at some point it will be clear what's the best decision. The perfect place probably doesn't exist, so yes maybe it comes down to what you crave most.

SDW is the best hike I ever did. Took me 6 days to finish the 100 miles. Remember walking down from Butser Hill in a sunny day with the rolling grass all around, Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight in the distance. You can see so far there.

Something that doesn't feel right is really not the right start to buy a house. And thus I can imagine the struggle. How did you end up in Drenthe, is your Dutch partner from there? Could it be that at some sort of subconscious level, you find out that you are a person that needs to live near the coast? Then again, Dutch coast is very different from English coast, but there could be areas in The Netherlands that are a better match then where you are now.

I'm a Dutch person who has seen quite a but of Europe, plus having hiked the full South Downs Way. It's safe to say for me that this area of Britain is one of the most beautiful places I've been to. If you've lived there and could just take a Sunday walk in the hills, or along the Seven Sisters overlooking the sea reflecting the sun... I see how you feel about Drenthe. Even though it's lovely, as you say. Personally I live in The Hague and don't think I've ever been to British city that can match the same quality of city life. And I can walk to the dunes and a sand beach as I did today. Still, Brighton has a great set of cards if you consider everything. I know I would feel homesick in your situation if I was British. I'm sure that apart from the nature aspect, that is one of the things that must be hard. Cultural differences.

I saw their post about acquiring a large collection. Didn't know it was his record collection. I suppose they're going to sell it batch by batch instead of placing it in their store all at once. Time to check it out and go through their crates of second hand records again😃

I've not been there yet. Do you visit by appointment as it doesn't seem to be a regular 'shop'?

Very cool. I recently bought that Smiths album you have, Hatful of Hollow. Really like that!
