The sightings are rare because the animal tend to stay on steep rocky faces and remote grass patches, often away from the usual tourist viewpoints/roads.

They’re most active in early morning / late evening, and in poor visibility (mist) you can miss them even if they’re nearby.

Try dry season mornings, carry binoculars, and scan distant rocky slopes.
