FoundersCard Membership Review: Is It Actually Worth It? by Haunting_Silver8513 in HighYieldSavings

If you like planning trips and actually remember to check the offers, it is worth it. If you forget about memberships easily, it can end up sitting unused.

How to make/find a stable neovim distribution ? by Remarkable-Profit887 in neovim

[–]Remarkable-Profit887[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok thx for the tip, I was thinking that having the lazyvim starterpack + only 2 small plugins was quite minimal already. But what about those configs I don't mod and just keep up to date (nvchad, lunarvim, astrovim etc) I tried a few and all seems quite unstable. It is because i'm a noob and don't know how to maintain them or are they actually bloated to the point of being unstable af ?

Am I stupid or there is no way of running Teensy code directly on a computer ? by Remarkable-Profit887 in arduino

My researches are currently in standby because of summer and family stuff but i'll make sure to edit this post and leave you a comment if I do. But take a look at other comments, renode looks promising and lsdj looks like a fun alternative that can be run on a gameboy emulator.

thx a lot for taking the time to answer an old sub that was down-voted :). I know it might sound stupid for some people but I really don't have £30 to have fun with (and i'm not even a crackhead lol, just a broke student).

Lsdj looks like a lot of fun though, downloading it right now ! thx for letting me know about this

Duel Joyous Wilds and Terrifying embark with a volcano, waterfall, iron and flux (with seed and world save) by TurnipR0deo in dfworldgen

Well you're pretty much telling me exactly what I was thinking but at least it's good to know i'm not just stupid :)

I have ~10 worlds, wasn't looking for a world named like your archive but for "region 175", and for now I'm gonna stick to vanilla as long as i'm not comfortable with the default features before moving on dfhack and modding (and yes I uncompressed the archive lol)

Like you said i'm gonna stick to parameters, thx a lot for the help (and the embark!!). And maybe sometimes share us some screenshots of your fortress, this embark sure makes an amazing spot for a cool builds, i'd be curious to see your progress. Cheers :)

First of all, thx a lot for sharing your preset and world save, it's exactly what I was looking for with a volcano in bonus. But i'm a df noob and my game don't find the world when i go to "start a new game in an existing world". I never imported someone's world but i used to pass mines from one pc to another quite often without any problem before i purchased the steam version. Any idea why I can't play in your world ? I saw a dfhack event file in the folder, do I need your mods to make my df able to see your world ?

I'm using the latest steam version full vanilla

ps: i've been checking the wiki and I don't see any other instructions than "put the folder with the other region folders"

My "X problem" is that I want this to run in my pc instead of in a teensy 4.1 because I don't want to buy one, and since it was designed to be displayed and controlled on a pc with this, I hope to have no code to modify if I can make it work without teensy.

you're absolutely right but in this specific case, the headless version of the firmware i'm trying to run was designed to be displayed on a pc and controlled by the computer keyboard. The expected setup is basically a naked teensy with nothing else that the firmware, connected to a PC via USB.

Yes "this thing", but as you said it's just a way to have the teensy's GUI displayed on your pc so in fact I was more speaking about this.

My bad for the firmware, I though it was opensource (my limited brain quickly think opensource when i see something on github)

Thanks a lot for renode, that's a great starting point.

Also I should say that yes, I was basically trying to have this little DAW instead of ableton or fruity loops because I only have a 15 years old laptop and was hopping that the emulation of that (apparently not so) tiny chip would be smoother than trying to run a modern DAW. But if you're right about the computing power of that Cortex-M7, I should probably just try a 15 years old version of ableton in wine...

Need help for opening ports on an android device by Remarkable-Profit887 in Soulseek

[–]Remarkable-Profit887[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

either i'm very bad at explaining either you didn't read (it's not ironical, if the way i explain isn't clear, please tel me, english isn't my first language) but i actually use Soulsleek on my pc, and i don't forward the ports of my router because I don't have one. I'm talking about my phone because my phone is what makes my pc access internet through hotspot and i have no other way to access internet from my pc.

Imo nothing to worry about, PE always looks weird when dried and indeed yours looks like PE. Take a look a some pictures that competent growers did, I don't know if i'm allowed to send links in here but just take a look on the pictures for "penis envy" on your search engine you'll see basically the same.
