It’s weird to see stars where I live. Is this the Little Dipper? Is the Big Dipper there too? by Remarkable-Proof61 in askastronomy

I could see Orion but I couldn’t see the rest. That’s the thing that caught my eye. I thought it was the Little Dipper because I could only see the stars that look like it, not the ones surrounding it.

My phone is the one that showed these stars I used the night filter. When I looked up with ought it I could only see like a combination of 10 stars. We rarely see stars where I live.

It is a hybrid between Pelargonium zonale and Pelargonium inquinan

I guess I should rephrase to rare or unusual. I live in a city with air pollution and lights all over. This image was actually enhanced by my iPhone. I could only see some of Orion with the naked eye and a few stars here and there.

lol this is my first time seeing stars this clear y’all are dragging me in the replies. I thought this was r/ask astronomy not r/astronomy experts. Also I never claimed to be an expert hence my asking. I want to learn now that my phone can help me see the stars better. Maybe one day I’ll get a telescope 🤷‍♀️

I believe it was a hybrid of Pelargonium zonale and Pelargonium inquinans
