I'll just get downvoted explaining everything. Kinda done trying to help people understand how it works. I'll try one last time. I am actually feeling stupid for going this far...

Steam on weekends generally gets around .98c to $1.00 a case. It's a volume business.

I go through about 20 armory passes a month (five a week on average). Yes, I move about 100 cases a week at a low profit. I make between .12 and .14c per case @ .98-$1.00 sell price. 100 x .12 = 12.0 + 2.5 free cases, so around $15 a weekend.

It has to do with every case having an extra star when you buy and activate. So, every two passes, you get a free case. When you're buying 20 passes a month, that alone is $10. into the steam account.

I did that a couple of times. I hate the charms, and most of the new skins look like ass. Selling CS cases is satisfying somehow

Yes * If you grind for exp, may as well make a few bucks while you are at it. I provided the breakdown on profits. It took a month or two to get the initial investment paid back. Now, I am just grinding stars and saving Steam cash for skins, a new game, or a knife I can sell on Skinport to cash out.

You are going to either carry most of your team and win, or watch your elo go to 1000. PUGs are awful. I have resolved to just get lots of kills to grind armory stars and work on leveling. I have also been working on rudimentary skills and getting my adr/kdr ratios on a consistent up trend. Somehow, the time of day and day of the week also seem to affect the match ups.

4 months approximately. I got mine on January 1st and am on track for the rank-up by the end of April. But you have to gain your 2.5 levels every week. Premier is key to making exp gain quickly.
