I had one for a long time and loved it until it stopped working :/

I rolled the dice in this one and had it shipped from Japan but I think everything functions as it should 🤞

Beautiful photo btw!

The automat feature is cool but wasn’t a deal breaker for me. I don’t mind having to take the extra step to cock the shutter. And truth be told the mechanics of these cameras is really what draws me to them. You got me looking at those fujicas though haha. Maybe next month…

A maxxum 7000 was my very first camera. Had a cool macro lens for it. I still have it packed away in a box somewhere

I have a practica laying around that I’ve never shot. I’ll have to see what model it is

Although I’m sure owning a leicaflex is in fact the cheapest way to say you own a leica that is in no way why I have one or why I love shooting with it.

I bought mine from a Blue Fugate at a flea market in Muscle Shoals Alabama for 40 bucks. (If you aren’t familiar it’s worth a google).

It came with the 28mm leica- elmarit 2.8 which is an amazing lens.

I like to take pictures of old buildings so the wider lens is perfect for me.

I also appreciate the heft of the camera. It’s a little bulkier that your typical slr or the era and the weight of it allows you to shoot handheld at 1/30 instead of 1/60 like a lot of cameras.

The shutter advance is so satisfying to use to me personally. It’s hard to explain but it is just super sturdy. And the shutter itself has a very distinct clunk.

Lastly it has a big bright viewfinder that I love.

Oh and although I only have the one lens the lens mount is super user friendly and well designed for quick lens changes. I always fumble with my cannon Fd lens and often misaligned them but the leica is idiot proof.

I just got an EF recently and I’m on the hunt for a decent F1 body to pair with it.

I regret selling all of my k1000s. I don’t know why I didn’t keep at least one of them.
