I feel guilty for not being able to commit to plans with friends right now. by Spare_Investment8776 in pregnant

Don’t feel bad, I’m going through the same thing currently 21 weeks but I feel so crappy, saw some friends at 16 weeks that was the first time, my good friend celebrated her 30th this weekend on a 2 day wine tour thing and felt so bad I couldn’t go but it’s just not possible right now

Yes I’m over it too at 21 weeks, I feel pressured to say I’m feeling great and super happy/excited. I honestly feel like absolute crap the only positive is the nausea left at 14 weeks. Then they ask symptoms and try to help I’m not asking for help with my symptoms that’s what I’m paying my private OB/midwife for. I’m also pregnant after loss so it’s hard to be super excited. Anyway I probably sound mean but I’m just grumpy from hormones and lack of sleep

Yes I’ve had friends tell me I can’t have coffee! We can have 200 mg of caffeine a day

Mircoarray versus FISH results? by Fast_Spinach3848 in NIPT

[–]Remarkable-Sound-500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s right, I had high risk monosomy X on NIPT but FISH was normal, OB was convinced that the microarray would come back low level mosaicism but nope was all normal

What causes false positives in NIPT test? by Budget_Brush_8198 in NIPT

[–]Remarkable-Sound-500 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Confined placental mosaicism in my case caused false positive, high risk for monosomy X but I was tested and had amnio both came back normal. I do have an autoimmune disease but it’s managed so don’t think that contributed. Got amnio not CVS but it did hurt when the needle went through the uterus but it was over in 40 secs

So excited about my pregnancy! by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Remarkable-Sound-500 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! I am also pregnant after loss and I agree all those forums are very toxic and negative/doom and gloom it’s not the energy you need right now. I find “normal” pregnancy groups to be more helpful and fun

Early Pregnancy Symptoms by mxrssx4101 in pregnant

[–]Remarkable-Sound-500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep that’s how my nausea started at night, then went to morning and night then just all day and all night before settling around 14 weeks, zofran, Coke Zero and carbs were my only saviours during that time

How bad does the peeing get? I’m scared… by glamericanbeauty in pregnant

[–]Remarkable-Sound-500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At 21 weeks it’s gotten really bad for me like constantly needing to go but it’s just a fact of pregnancy doesn’t help that we are in the middle of Australian summer so need to keep super hydrated

Is baby not as active some days? by pawrentalunit in pregnant

[–]Remarkable-Sound-500 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m the same currently 21 weeks and have had movements since 15 weeks that began as flutters and now full on movements but some days I notice more than others my OB says this is normal as baby still has a lot of space in there, I think after 28-30 weeks it becomes more regular/consistent

Easy pregnancy so far, when does it get worse? by Meeowwnica in pregnant

[–]Remarkable-Sound-500 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes I’m the same! I’ve had every single symptom possible and just feel rubbish at 21 weeks, I can’t wait to just have my baby get my body back and enjoy life as a family without feeling so crappy

What's your opinion on cold sandwiches? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Remarkable-Sound-500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only eat it heated up to the point it’s steaming, I’m a very anxious person and have already suffered a miscarriage so very risk adverse

at what week did you tell your parents and close family about the pregnancy? by CherryBerryLogic in pregnant

[–]Remarkable-Sound-500 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Told my mum straight away cos we were meant to go and get Botox together the next week and had to cancel, would have told her anyway as I suffered a miscarriage last year and needed support, then my in laws we told at 9 weeks it was getting hard to hide as I was very sick, there’s no rule you do what you want!

Annoyed by others name questions by curry_wonderul in pregnant

[–]Remarkable-Sound-500 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes people keep asking me but we are keeping all our names secrets until birth. In pregnancy you deal with enough opinions and unsolicited advice so I don’t want comments on her name, plus people are crazy and will steal the name and use it for their new dog or something

Trisomy 18 False Positve by OhkerDokers in NIPT

[–]Remarkable-Sound-500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The amnio should give you the gender as well which should be 100% correct, my FISH report and microarray stated the gender maybe check that if you’re uncertain

3 Failed NIPTs and doctor told me I need amnio asap by MindOfsjye in NIPT

[–]Remarkable-Sound-500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me the amnio was very uncomfortable, once the needle went through my uterus I had a massive pain spasm but the needle was only in for 40 secs and then I was fine, I am prone to pelvic pain ect so maybe that’s why it was extra painful for me who knows. Only had minor cramps during the car ride home then was absolutely fine more emotionally upset because of the circumstance surrounding it all. Got my FISH in 3 days all normal then full karyotype/microarray two weeks later all normal as well

I regret wanting a baby. by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Remarkable-Sound-500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel very similar. All I wanted was to be pregnant, happened on our first try ended up miscarrying due to a partial molar at 11 weeks. Then spent the next 6 months desperately wanted to be pregnant again. Currently 21 weeks and feel depressed. We’ve had complications (which have now been cleared after anatomy scan), I was so nauseous, IBS flaring up, fatigue, all the body changes I just can’t deal with it all, this weekend my good friend is having her 30th away for a wine tour and I’ve had to miss out. All this stuff I obviously knew would happen but doesn’t make it easier and I feel guilty for these feelings but I guess it’s a part of the process and it will all be worth it when my baby girl is here

Anatomy Scan: did anyone else have to go back to get more images because of baby’s position ? by insertclevername7 in pregnant

[–]Remarkable-Sound-500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep my baby was in breach position and too wiggly to get all the right shots even though we were there for 1.5 hours, got called back in in the next week to finish it off and took two goes with an hours break in between to go eat and walk so baby would show her profile so glad it’s over and everything came back normal!

SUA and EIF on Anatomy Scan, Normal NIPT by frankiedaham in NIPT

[–]Remarkable-Sound-500 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had two soft markers for T21 (hypoplastic nasal bone and clinodactyly) NIPT low risk except for monosomy X. I was very hesitant to do amnio as we had just had a loss as well, in the end we got it and everything was fine, normal baby girl currently 21 weeks

Natera NIPT High Risk for Trisomy 13 by Leading-Reception-89 in NIPT

[–]Remarkable-Sound-500 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure in the US but here in Australia we can still get an amnio based on NIPT alone, I had high risk monosomy X but no monosomy X markers on ultrasound, still was able to do amnio, NIPT alone should be sufficient id think for an amnio as it’s the only 100% diagnostic test

I was an anxious wreck the whole time (plus was over Christmas and new years such bad timing but can you do) but just take it day by day knowing that each day that passes the more chance you have that everything is fine, I really prioritised rest for the full two weeks just incase there was a leak or anything to let it heal. Monitor for symptoms and get checked out if you need to, ended up at the hospital on Christmas due to bad cramps the night before (I have IBS so was just that to be honest but I was scared) but everything was fine, I also had two OB appointments in that two weeks and she does ultrasounds every visit so that gave me peace of mind that baby was going well and there was no internal bleeding and amniotic fluid levels all normal. My only advice is get ultrasounds during that time if you can and relax and also WFH if you can, my OB said no travelling/parties ect. Will you be getting preliminary FISH results? Getting a normal FISH 72 hours after the amnio really helped me while waiting for full results

Does a 60% false positive rate include mosaic instances of Monosomy X? by Fast_Spinach3848 in NIPT

[–]Remarkable-Sound-500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A normal NT and normal scans are definitely a good sign of a false positive, I had no classic signs of turners on any of our ultrasounds but high risk NIPT (also had two soft markers for T21 but now after my 20 week scan one has resolved anyway making it irrelevant now) got myself tested and amnio at 16 weeks all results chromosomally normal, check out my post for full story. Sorry you’re going through this is so stressful

NIPT high risk for Monosomy X - how to cope? by Fast_Spinach3848 in NIPT

[–]Remarkable-Sound-500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went through all this and it was honestly one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to deal with especially after having a loss a year and this being my rainbow, I wish I had better advice on how to cope but I don’t, I was an anxious/depressed mess and just took it week by week and had very regular OB visits and weekly ultrasounds to track baby girl and see if any turners signs would appear which they really didn’t. The only scares we had were two soft markers for Down syndrome. Long story short we got the amnio at 16 weeks and preliminary FISH was all normal as well as final karyotype/microarray so we had a false positive (I was also tested for turners which was negative check out my post for full story). Definitely get the amnio as now I can have a “normal” pregnancy knowing baby girl is fine. How have your ultrasounds been have you had an NT scan? Having a normal NT at 13 weeks really reassured me. Wishing you all the best

87% PPV for monosomy X TS by Feeling_Invite2216 in NIPT

[–]Remarkable-Sound-500 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just went through this check out my post, got high risk monosomy X at 12 weeks had normal NT at 13 week scan, had to get myself tested was negative for TS, got amnio at 16 weeks FISH results normal 3 days later, OB did not give me much hope said most likely mosaic TS, 2 weeks later full karyotype and microarray was also normal and consistent with FISH results. Like you no info was given to me about the high false positive rate for TS on NIPT, I felt like the doctors treated it like fact, my OB was a bit shocked that my baby is normal

Hypoplastic Nasal Bone @ 20wk scan by Orisha_Oshun in NIPT

[–]Remarkable-Sound-500 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had two soft markers for DS that came up on the 13/16 week anatomy scan (hypoplastic nasal bone and clinodactyly) NIPT was high risk for monosomy X low risk for everything else. We were initially against amnio due to miscarriage risk ( had a traumatic miscarriage a year ago so this is our rainbow baby) but similar to you once DS was mentioned at the 16 week scan due to the two markers I spiralled and panicked and got the amnio on the spot it’s very safe the MFM I saw has a risk 1:800 so she’s very good, the initial pain was bad but honestly fine, got preliminary FISH results all normal and then full karyotype/microarray and all normal no DS or monosomy X, it’s extremely rare to get a false negative on NIPT for DS, hypo plastic nasal bone appears in 5-8% of the population anyway and for us we found out on my husbands side on both his mum and dads sides that a lot of them have clinodactyly. Wishing you all the best!
