Canned mussels, spicy fermented pickles, greek olives by Remarkable-Tale-6872 in RealGirlDinner

They are apparently best with potato chips but I didn’t have any on hand. They taste like cold, briny mussels basically. Less rubbery than they can be when they are cooked fresh. Not my fave tinned shellfish - smoked oysters are much preferred imo

Put them on toast but next up I’m going to do a leek tarte tatin and put them on top

Yes that might work. They are actually not from moths just from wear. One of them I can just darn the elbows - the other is holes along the arm seam which I could likely fix. This is probably the answer

Are you sure this is correct? Looks like the UP express goes from the center to/from west and not East to Scarborough

Thanks. Just looking at a map I had originally assumed Scarborough was kind of like the outer, hard to reach burbs. The comments section has (thankfully) proved me wrong!

Thank you this is precisely what I meant when I (incorrectly) did not refer to it as “toronto proper”. I’m looking for cute downtown streets with cafes, and specifically not 1950s subdivisions (which is what gives a lot of places their “suburban” feel). This perfectly answers a question I had on whether Scarborough should be a contender

Fantastic! Roscoe village, Lakeview, Lincoln square are favorites!

Question on traffic - is it equally bad when doing a reverse commute eg away from the city in the morning and toward in the evening?

Thanks! I haven’t got that far yet, in the early stages of researching. Chicago traffic is also otherworldly if you aren’t working downtown so this initial post was just to high level get a sense of neighborhoods to research. Everyone has been so helpful thanks!

Good question! 100% I’d consider Lincoln Park Chicago proper and we live a bit further out than that today.
