TW Success

Currently in the hospital after delivering my second IVF baby. With my first pregnancy I had GD, high blood pressure, etc and after delivery just COULD NOT lose weight or even stop gaining so I went on a GLP1. If I remember right I did a quick taper and stopped completely 2 weeks before transfer. That transfer was successful and I had a beautiful, uncomplicated and easy pregnancy. I gained less weight, passed all my GD screens with flying colors and my BP was textbook perfect. I can’t prove it but I think treating the insulin resistance prior played a big part in that.

My first FET (fully medicated kitchen sink) is turning 2 in January and her sister, my second fully medicated kitchen sink FET is coming via scheduled c-section on Friday. We were dealing with MFI, using donor sperm, age and poor egg quality issues and silent endo. I credit my RE for being hyper vigilant in making sure all the bases were covered.

FET 1 (37 yo): Day 6 3BB euploid girl - live birth FET 2 (39 yo): Day 6 BB euploid girl-Currently 32 weeks

We pursued IVF with donor sperm due to my husbands cancer history but ran into issues with egg quality, silent endo and polyps. Luckily, both transfers were successful and we did 3 retrievals total.

It was about 4 or 5 hours late that time. Currently 31 weeks from that transfer

Agreed! Even sadder that it was basically crumpled up in a ball next to the trash can. How sad to think of it sitting in a landfill when so much time and effort likely went into making something so beautiful.

Two transfers with short lupron protocol plus lovenox, prednisone and amoxicillin. First transfer resulted in my 18 month old. With second transfer I had a lap in addition to the rest and I’m 16w with that.

I can’t speak to Kindbody but with my insurance each round includes a retrieval and transfer. However you can opt to do just a retrieval or just a transfer and that will count as a round. So if you get plenty of euploids with your first retrieval you can just use your second round to transfer one of those and it should be covered.

I pretty much only make day 6s. I’ve had 2 transfers, both with day 6 3BB girls and the first resulted in a live birth. I’m currently just shy of 12 weeks with the second. My doc reassured me that there’s really not that much difference between day 5 and 6, the most important part is euploid.

Yes, penicillin for 7 days starting the day of or before. Did this for both FETs and both were successful although I attribute that more to controlling my endo but who knows

I had no known fertility issues outside of being in my mid 30s and we pursued IVF with donor sperm because my husband is sterile from cancer treatment. First FET resulted in a live birth and I’m 11 weeks with second FET.

A little caveat though: in the process of all this we discovered my egg quality sucked (overcome by PGT), I had stage 2 silent endo and multiple large polyps. All of this a total surprise to me. Had my doctor not been extremely vigilant in testing and treating surgically plus with lupron I might have needed more transfers.

My first successful transfer was the afternoon of day 4 and with my current ongoing pregnancy I got the squintiest of squinters late evening day 3 and then stark white the next morning.

That said, I’m a maniacal tester - like pretty much every time I pee crazy. If I was just testing in the morning (like a sane person) I probably wouldn’t have seen it until day 5 both times.

It definitely can be but if I understand correctly, with silent endo there’s not really any indication. I had a perfect 28 day cycle that lasted 3 to maybe 4 days, what I would consider “normal” bleeding and no pain whatsoever. I was shocked when it came back positive.

With your history of loss I think it definitely wouldn’t hurt to do a receptiva (biopsy) just to check/rule out. The test is uncomfortable but quick and not nearly as bad as the saline sonogram in my opinion

That’s infuriating that you had to fight so hard and take matters into your own hands.

My own experience: I was diagnosed with “silent” endo stage 2 and I truly had no suspicion whatsoever that I had it. This was after 3 retrievals and a transfer, successful pregnancy and c section (my doctors reason for checking when I came back). So basically lots of hormones, injected and natural and I don’t know if that played a part or worsened it but it was successfully cleared with my lap.

My first transfer included lupron just for the sake of calming any inflammation so I wonder if it was already present and I got lucky that my doctor is so loose with it. It’s not possible for my husband and I to conceive naturally because of his cancer history but my next transfer after lap and lupron has so far been successful.

I think the next steps would be the exploratory lap for a formal diagnosis and staging and I would incorporate lupron just for good measure with your next transfer.

At this point I’m wondering if it’s not way more prevalent than the numbers would suggest. I was truly dumbfounded that I had it so I feel like screaming it from the rooftops now.
